The most magical of all the seasons is soon upon us- garage sale time! Around here, its been chilly and not quite full into the season yet, but last weekend, on a whim, I glanced at the ads about 10am Saturday morning. No good garage saler waits till late Saturday to make their plans for the hunt, but I hadn't thought about going out. I didn't realize there would be any up and running to beckon me.
Plus, I thought it was Friday.
But no, it was Saturday and by the time I saw the ad that read "all vintage clothing, hats, jewelry, and shoes" I was at the very tail end of the best sale I've ever seen in my life.
Yep, this is my haul from the dregs of the sale!!!!!!
15 floral hats at $5 each. And I hear that I missed out on a lot that sold the day before. Along with bags of old jewels, but hey, I don't cry over what I missed. I'm thrilled to have got this load of treasure.
The clothes were amazing too. I bought this cinamon colored lace dress for $10. I think I'll cut it off to wear as a jacket over a tee shirt, right now it is floor length. Which is pretty, but I doubt if I'd ever wear it as a dress. I can see it getting a lot of use as a lacey jacket with jeans, though.
And I just can't wait to slip this over Sugarwing's head! Won't she be an angel in this gown?
It has such pretty details for her to smear mud, paint, ketchup and chocolate on before she tears it.
Hmm, maybe I won't add this to her dress up closet, I'll save it for "special".
Looks like beautful finds Karla~~~
I went to Heather Bullard’s garage sale this weekend..and now I am having a hard time deciding what to re-sale and what to keep!
Hope your bird song event was wonderful wish I lived closer:)

Those finds are gorgeous! You hit the jackpot even if it was the tail end of the sale. Love the white lace gown.
Awesome finds, I’ve got to be better about hitting those garage sales. lol
Have a wonderful Sunday

Good grief, this is amazing. That lace — seriously to die for, but then those hats… oh, however did you keep your composure?
Who has a sale like that? I would have never have been able to part with such treasures. Lucky for you! 🙂
Carla, I am sure you will look great in the lace jacket and find many uses for the rest of the lace that you cut off the bottom. You go girl.
Such beautiful finds! That’s some garage sale – a winner, for sure!

Oh Karla, What beautiful finds you found, thanks for sharing all the beautiful things. I hope your weather is getting warmer. Have a wonderful week. Hugs, Terri
Well hey!! The mother of all garage sales!! You tried to tell me garage sales were a good thing. Now I believe you.
Of course, it doesn’t hurt to have a good eye, and to be clever enough to think how you will cut that lace for a jacket. Hope Sugar Wings loved looking at the eyeballs. Hope you all had a blast krafting this weekend!!
Haul is right! I saw a few garage sale signs myself this past Friday but didn’t have time to stop at any! Sugarwing’s dress is just beautiful!
Lucky Ducky…Beautiful Vintage clothing and hats…my gal pal would be so envious, she loves the vintage clothing. tiff

u have better garage sales in your neck of the woods than we do.
LUV that lace dress. Yes it would be beautiful as a jacket.
OMG, Karla, This is a major haul and I cannot believe it was the second day! I don’t think garage sale season will start in Minneapolis until next month. Still a little snow on the ground. It is time for some good estate sales, though. I am always game for those!
Those flowers are some of the prettiest I have seen. I am SO GLAD that you are going to put Sugarwings in that dress! It is meant to be worn!!!
Hugs,
Suz
sheesh. There are not any estate sales that good in West Texas, let alone garage sales! I see that I will just have to make another trip up to your neck of the woods… 🙂
Hi Karla,
Oh lucky you!! I keep looking for sales but it is too wet here still. The hats and the gown… serious gorgeous goodies:-)
Bella
Is it still St Patrick’s Day? You certainly have the luck of the Irish!
