Today, Sugarwings and I picked some parsley and dill that had started to flower. I try to keep my herbs pinched back so they grow lush and full, but sometimes it just gets away from me.
And I'm kind of glad that I let it go this time, they had some pretty blooms. A bit like Queen Anne's Lace, one of my favorites.
So, instead of just pinching it back, we cut long stems of the fragrant blooms and brought them into the dining room.
I tend to have a lot going on in my house, decoratively (and emotionally!) so I really enjoy the simple look of a white pot full of blooming parsley on the table.
Thank you to everyone who offered prayers and encouragement about the expected baby and her possible difficulties. We are trying to not worry too much until more tests tell us that we need to. For now, we are thinking happy thoughts her way.
Love the simplicity of this! Beautiful!
Lovely centerpiece, Karla. I love Queen Anne’s lace or anything similar. I also wanted to mention that after reading your previous post, I was at a loss for words and couldn’t leave a comment yesterday, but thought about you and your family throughout the day and will continue to hope for a positive outcome.
karla, wishing all the best for you and your new little grandchild on the way, will be praying for all of you.

p.s.- We didn’t end up going away this weekend, but since I didn’t hear from you I figured you weren’t coming into town. Now it is good that you didn’t because you needed to be home with your sweeties.
Karla, it’s absolutely gorgeous! Beautiful simplicity at its finest!
Cheers,
Holly

Sometimes a simple touch is all we need in our decor or in our life circumstances. Please know that I will be praying for your precious family. Wishing you blessings of healing and a healthy baby girl for your son and his beloved. And yes, chiggers are THE most evil thing on the planet, be well!

“I’m kind of glad that I let it go this time, they had some pretty blooms” – Funny isn’t it? I know we aren’t supposed to let herbs bloom for the best taste, but sometimes we forget they can be pretty as well. I love the stillness of the centerpiece. Take care, Karla.
