We had an unexpected and delightful message from a North Carolina grand fairy. She was picking up a friend in Missouri and had a free day. Could we meet up with her?
YES!
We discussed various options for a meet up, deciding that we’d all love a picnic and hike at a state park centered in Missouri. Not to mention it was very near one of my fave roadside stops, Midway Antique Mall. Well that’s a huge venue and the day wasn’t about junking. (Although, seriously, shouldn’t every day be about the pursuit of vintage goodies?)
So, I whipped through, just visiting my two most reliable dealers and continued on to the park to have as much time with our kiddo as we could.
My face might’ve been hurting from smiling so much, I think Sugar felt the same way. The other dogs stayed behind, so she had one of those rare moments of being an only child.
And I was having a rare day out with a grandchild who lives too far away.
We were loving this treat of a day out. Perfect weather, company, everything about the day was A+.
