Hawaiimaui 103

Yes, my eyes are closed, but I still love this photo of us. It was such a special evening. I swear, Hawaii is special, no matter what, but wow. This sail boating dinner cruise was perfection.

Hawaiimaui 102

My husband's sis, Terry, treated us to a trip on the Allii Nui

Hawaiimaui 106

I expected a nice evening, but wasn't prepared for the total luxury and deliciousness of the boat. Great food, beautiful and spacious surroundings, whales leaping up a few feet from the boat to surprise us while we ate, frosty foo foo drinks, and of course, the best company.  Terry, Dale and Rich are a fine set of companions.

Hawaiimaui 019

We took another whale watching trip earlier in the week, and saw quite a few blows, fins, waves, and splashes.

1535588_10152090626814477_1631351550_n

But my very favorite part were the Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins.  They have pink tummies, and leap into the air while doing pirouettes.  We were followed by a few of them on our way back from spying on whales.   Then, on my last day at the beach, a huge flock (school, pod, bunch?) of the pink bellied cuties, swam along the shore to tell me goodbye, while showing off their jumping skills and twirls.

Hawaiimaui 018

Both of our trips out to whale peek, were on smaller trips, with few passengers.  This boat was only half full, so was the sunset cruise on the catamaran.

Hawaiimaui 096

Seriously, though, even if we hadn't seen any whales, the scenery is so lush, it's worth the trip out on the water.

Dd

Heck, you don't have to take a boat to be surrounded by beauty. This is the land of never ending rainbows.

1461304_10152096675904477_250107575_n

Here is the view off our balcony one morning.  It was a partial rainbow and a gold glow across the mountains.  The rainbow seemed to be so colorful that it just couldn't contain itself and had to escape from the confines of its arc.

1479078_10152091789194477_1119556433_n

This is looking the other way from the balcony.

Every day, I did a sketch with my Ipad ap, Hello Watercolor. I was definitely hooked on that plaything.  It's such a quick and easy, no muss way to paint.  My plan is to print all the images, embellish them and make a travel journal with them.

1505521_10152093287314477_1826633672_n

It was a lucky choice to take two iPads with me. The one I got for Christmas, that was new, fast, and held a good charge, but didn't support the watercolor ap, and the older one with the painting toy on it.  My husband left his iPad in the seat pocket of the airplane, and he was able to read books and play Words with Friends on my extra one during the trip.

He also lost his prescription sunglasses in the ocean. Seems like Hawaii is expensive enough without these additional costs. And today we realized that we are missing his brand new workout pants too. Unless they are lurking in one of the suitcases that were put away, they sure aren't in the piles of laundry I finished up after getting home.

My guess is that they are hanging on the back of the bathroom door of the hotel.  Oh well, at least they didn't cost as much as sunglasses.

1525053_10152088384644477_1661469053_n

And he is such a hunk, I couldn't be mad at him.

1511327_10152095514814477_1527886996_n

By the way, Lenscrafters shops seem to be anywhere you happen to be when glasses get lost, and they can replace them in an hour.  Unless your prescription is more than a year old. Like his was, even though it was only by a few days…. But there are doctors there too.  Still a quick fix, just another-gulp- $100 to shell out.

Hawaiimaui 030

I'd hate for him to have missed any of the beauty around us.  I'm glad we were able to replace the glasses.

I'll have more pics from the trip coming up.  For now, I'd better start tackling all of those holiday decorations that are still dangling forlornly in my studio.  They are ready to go back to their box till next year, they are looking a bit tired.

A Holiday Ornament making party

celebrations, family, holiday decor, We're having a party

Ornament part 030
Is it too late to still be talking about Christmas?

Ornament part 029

I feel like I missed a chunk of the holiday since I got so sick with a 24 hour bug that I was in bed for almost a week. Luckily, the rest of the family didn't get hit so hard.  But I was a pure wimp about it.

Ornament part 006

So, I feel a bit behind with my holiday recaps.  Plus, I'm writing this ahead of my trip to Hawaii so my blog will update while I'm away, making this not quite as old of news to me as it is to you….

Ornament part 008

On the weekend before Christmas, we had an ornament making party.  It was a big, pitch in dinner, with lots of tasty treats, about 40 or so people, and I filled a table in the studio with tons of supplies so whoever wanted to make something for their tree could snip and paste and glitter away.  Most of the husbands preferred beers in the office to glitter in the studio.  The kids and moms were all able to make at least a couple ornies each.

I think Finn set the record, he was a regular Santa's Helper Elf. That kid was cranking them out.

Ornament part 035

And, I'd say the glitter was certainly used in full force! I will be sweeping up glitter for months. Or not, I kind of like having it sparkling up the floors.

Ornament part 013

Actually, it was one of many ornament parties I went to.  First, the workshop early in the season, then a few friends over the next week to make some of the leftover projects.  And my pal, Tami, invited me to a holiday ornament party at her house with some of our Birdsong friends.

Those were all such fun, that I threw this big one with the dinner party too. But poor Sugarwings, who was so excited about helping me plan it, got sick and couldn't come.  I had a mini party for her where she could craft her own sparkly creations to make it up to her.

Ornament part 009
I'd bought a bagful of those papermache shapes on strings at Michael's when they were 40% and I had a 25% off everything coupon.  These made for some fun concoctions, and I think I should go back and get more if they are still on clearance there . I have a feeling that they are gone by now. They are good to work with for the adults as well as the kids.

Ornament part 005

I wish I'd had my camera out more.  I was elbow deep in sparkly stuff and too busy to take many pictures til things slowed down and all the kids had been helped with the glue gun and basic steps.

Ornament part 025 Ornament part 001

Over the years, I've had other seasonal parties with crafts in the studio.  I love making things so much, these are my favorite kind of parties. I'm blessed with the space to do this and also have more supplies than I'll ever use. Might as well share, huh?

Ornament part 019

Speaking of supplies, my friend, Jen, had given me a stack of photo paper she wasn't going to use.  Some how, some old photos (copies) of her relatives were left in the envelopes, but I wasn't sure if they were from her or some I had, or what, because it was a year or so later that I opened them and I had lots of pictures and photo paper.

She saw the photos I had out for everyone to cut and play with and recognized her grandma in them.   She and her daughter had a great time making family themed ornaments to give away for Christmas. And it was cute to hear her daughter come over and say, "Mom, can I have another relative, please?"

Ornament part 012

Gosh, I hated to see the holidays come to an end.  In my house, all the decor was packed up and stored away on Jan.1st.  But there is still a silver and gold explosion of Christmas out in the studio.  I have a feeling that when I return from Hawaii, I will be wishing I'd got that all boxed up too.  Heck, I didn't even have a chance to clean up the room from the party yet.

Xmas 2013 039That will be one of the first things on my list to do when I get settled. Because the girls and I have new toys to play with, I got these art sets at Michael's for them (those go on sale every year for a couple dollars) and Sugarwings bought one for me too! She had earned money from selling dyed bottle brush trees on Etsy and took that to her school holiday shop where things are donated by the community for kids to buy.

We were so tickled to see that we'd got the same gifts for each other. I can't wait till we get to sit down in the studio, spread out all the colors and give them a whirl.

What a year, wowzers!

2nd day of school

For 2014's shiny new beginning, I thought I'd look back at 2013's biggest events for me, and show you some of my favorite photos.

Sugarwings starting first grade was major stepping stone in our lives last year.

Snow princess 245

In my mind, I always picture her like this.  Darn the calendar! The pages flip too fast.

Girls

I think the biggest event of 2013 for Dewdrop was the day she received this "fincess" dress.  She has hardly taken it off since October.

(we love that she calls 'princess' 'fincess', because her brother is named, Fin)

Stuff 007

Of course, starting a sustainable food forest with a fairy playground on our land was a HUGE move.

Sister visit and magic books 010

When it was in full bloom, and veggies were popping up everywhere, it was the prettiest garden I've ever seen. And to know that this is only the first year, of a lifetime plan, fills me with excitement.

Hawaii 027

The year began with a longed for trip to Hawaii with my husband's sister, Terry and her husband.  It was the first of many visits with her.  I had a GREAT year of trips and visits with family and friends. Magic

Wow, I'd say it was a record setting year for sistering.  My sisters came here to see me twice, and I went to Indy to see them.

Florida karen and randy 134

I got to visit darling Guncles, seeing my little bro, Randy FOUR times.

Florida karen and randy 017Starting with the pure fabulousness of going to Karen Hillman's Cozy Cottage to teach a class as a surprise birthday gift for her friend.

Randy 087 - Copy
I got to introduce Fabulous Karen to Fabulous Randy, and it all led to a Fabulous Black Velvet Christmas party in Jacksonville.

And seriously, I probably didn't say the word fabulous enough, that word was written just for Karen and Randy. It should never be used to describe anything else, it belongs to them.

Enchanted weekend 115

I saw Terry again in California when I taught at Kim's Enchanted Affaire, where I met up with good friends that I love like family too.

Cottage 086

Painting the mural for the event was a biggie, I loved working on it so much, that I really put myself into it, and every day that I painted was like a little trip to a fairy tale forest.  After the workshop, Kim mailed it back to me and it is now chopped up and stapled in the fairy girls' room

Birdsong 3 weekend 161

Before it was sliced up, I also used it at Birdsong 3.

Birdsong 3 weekend 151

Which was another big highlight of my  year.  Oh my, sooooo many nice people came to play at the cottage.  I can't wait for BS4.  Yep, 4, I can't believe it is coming up. I'd better get to planning, huh?

Disney 13 095

After the CA trip, I went to Disneyland with Terry. Then, for the Hippy Chick's college graduation, we took her and Sugarwings to Disneyworld in Florida. It was a Disney-rific year.

3

But I have to say that one of the best things I did all year, or maybe in the last ten years, was to take a summer off to be with the kids.

We went to zoos, parks, carnivals, boating, beaches, all sort of things.

Gazebo party 019

We played dress up.

More gifts cabinet redo 037We blew bubbles.

Sister visit and magic books 159

We had craft days. Lots of craft days.

1044946_10151651838669477_1531276693_n

We invented a new game, called "Hoppity Hearts".  It is a bit like Hopscotch without the boring squares.

Renfest 009

Summer spilled over into fall, and we kept on playing.  We saw the Renfest twice.

Renfest 063Even Uncle Ryan came along, just two weeks after his heart attack. His illness was the bad spot of the year, but I have to say, it brought us closer together.
Macon 018

I also got to see good friends again in October on a trip to Georgia. (and yes, that same shirt I'm wearing has been in three other of these photos,I'm surprised it isn't in more. Looks like I got as much use from that shirt as I did from the Enchanted Forest mural)

Valentine journal workshop cougar hunt 024

It was also a year of parties and more classes. I had a small, Valentine workshop in the studio.

Rcxmas day 064And then another group of friends came by for a Christmas ornament making workshop.

Redos 034

I was in a few publications too.  My Tiffany's mural from Kim's Affaire at Tiffany's the year before was in Mingle. I wasn't named as the artist, but I still think it counts, don't you?

Projects' 002And it was so special to me to see my Birdsong projects in Jewelry Affaire.  I was in that one earlier in the year for another project too.  Fifitwo 075

Fifi came out to shoot my cottage for Romantic Country.

Where women create 262And my pal, Carol was here to shoot the studio for Where Women Create.

Where women create 215

I must have made hundreds of little birdcages prepping for two classes and an online class I have offered.

Home 2013 july 003

And I even did some redos on the house this year.  I made new slip covers for the sofa and pillows for the bedroom. Spiffed up, repainted, rearranged rooms, and recovered a wall.

Fairy tea breakfast 007Yep, 2013 was one for the record books.

No wonder I'm tired…

Sometimes holidays aren’t what you planned, are they?

celebrations, Dew Drop, family, holiday decor, Sugarwings

Xmas 2013 104

Oh, we pulled Christmas off wonderfully, after all, but it was a bit of a bumpy ride.

Xmas 2013 081

First, Sugarwings came down with an upper respiratory bug and fever that made her miss the last day of school, with its big holiday bash, and then our annual ornament making party too.  As she started to get better, her mommy got a stomach bug, and Ryan got the head cold thing and high fever.  Then, shifts at work started shifting for the other parents, and all of our plans were topsy turvy.

Xmas 2013 026

We were back and forth on what day, what time, when to celebrate, but it all worked out with all of us feeling healthy on the same day and off work at the same time.  For one, beautiful, sparkly evening Christmas night, no one was sick. We had a lovely party, with lots of happy giggles.

Xmas 2013 114And Santa was able to find the girls at our house on the morning after Christmas.

Xmas 2013 086

But then, people started to trade bugs back and forth and before you know it, we had all succumbed to one or the other.

Xmas 2013 100Lucky me, I had both at once.  I can't even remember how long I was in bed, it felt like years.  And my selfish family refused to put a pillow over my head and smother me to put me out of my snotty, nauseating misery. Even when I assured them that I was too weak to struggle and would go quickly.

Xmas 2013 097

Our littlest fairy has the feverish bug now, along with both of her parents. Hopefully, her brothers and sisters won't get it too, because we are still trying to find a day when we can bring them an armload of gifts.

Xmas 2013 091

On Christmas Eve, when the parents were at work or sick, Sugarwings was  feeling better, so we took the girls to the restaurant her Daddy was working at.  I almost felt guilty about enjoying it so much with most of the family either sick or at work on the holiday, but man, it was a beautiful thing to have someone else cook a great meal on Christmas Eve.

Xmas 2013 029Years ago. before we had the Fairy Granddaughters, we used to eat Christmas dinner with Ryan at a bar and grill where he was employed as a cook.  There are few things as sad as bar food and listening to drunks cry into their beers over not seeing their kids on Christmas while we ate chicken strips and buffalo wings.  But hey, you do your best to be with family and keep them company on the holidays. And we did our best to make it fun.

Xmas 2013 028

It was a whole different thing to get fancied up really nice and put red, velvety dresses on the girls to go out for an Italian meal at my favorite restaurant.

Xmas 2013 116

We have aimed at traditions over the years and sometimes succeed.  But, we've discovered that it doesn't always matter if you have a certain meal on a certain night.

Xmas 2013 119
As long as we can find a day to be together, we are pretty happy.

Xmas 2013 050

Grammie’s house at Christmas, photographed by Sugarwings

Dew Drop, family, holiday decor, Sugarwings

Randy 022

When I downloaded the photos from my Florida trip to the Guncles' home, I found a series of pictures that I hadn't taken.   I saw Dewdrop as a model, and quickly figured out who might have been the photographer.

Randy 013

Sugarwings must have come across my camera sitting on the table waiting to be slipped into my purse for the trip and decided to take some pictures around the living room.

Randy 020

She did a good job with the photos, and I liked seeing the room from her point of view.

Randy 023

So, I decided to share them with you.

Randy 016

May your holiday also be filled with sweet surprises.

Randy 025

And a childlike view of the wonders of the holiday.

Randy 014

With all the joy and anticipation that fills a kid's heart.

Randy 017

While dreaming about the magic that awaits on Christmas morning.

Randy 015

Have a very Merry Christmas!

Randy 012

From my family, to yours.

A bookclub Christmas party

celebrations, family, Food and Drink, holiday decor, We're having a party

Randy 007

Before I left for my quick, Florida trip, I hosted our book club's holiday gathering.

Randy 002

This year, I am throwing myself whole heartedly into every opportunity to celebrate the season.

Randy 005

Lots of baking, lots of parties, lots of fun!

Randy 006

I'm hosting 4 gatherings, plus our family get togethers, took the girls to a play, attended a few parties, went to the Festival of Trees, and have Christmas lights burning brightly from morning till night.

Randy 008

When I had to have my decorations up before Thanksgiving, I thought it might be too much, that I'd be tired of all of them by the time the main event rolled around.

Randy 001

But nope, I've revelled in them and hate to see it all come to a close soon.  It will be hard to pack it up and say goodbye to all  of my twinkle lights and sparkly pretties  till next year.

B

So for now, I'm soaking up as much holiday cheer as I can cram into myself, and into these two.  We've done cocoa parties by the light of the tree and read Christmas stories galore.

Bobbiesissytrees 012

Of course, I've had to pay the price of all this gallivanting and fun.

Bobbiesissytrees 008

My shopping isn't done yet!

Bobbiesissytrees 011
Oh, I've made a few gifts, like these trees I sent to my sisses.  But for the most part, I've tried to make the holiday more about precious time together instead of presents.

Bobbiesissytrees 009

Although, as the big day approaches, I'm starting to worry about my lack of presents under the tree, and really do need to get a few wrapped for the children, of course. I'm doing gift cards for the adults in our family, so they don't feel left out, but for me this year, it's about the joy not the gifts.

What an improvement!

cottage, family, redos

Rcxmas day 050

Not too long ago, the handle of the kitchen sink faucet broke off in my hand.  The sink wasn't even that old, maybe 8-9 years or so.Luckily, I have a very handy son, who was able to replace it for me.

A small redo can be just as messy as a big one, I had to clear the counter and remove everything under the sink, and all those bottles, jars, canisters and other things were piled up on the dining table.  So, while he was at it, I had him go ahead and replace the sink too.

AND the bathroom sink, AND ucky looking faucet in there too!

My boy was here working, his tools were out, and the kitchen was pretty much wrecked for the day anyway.  It was a good time to go for it and replace it all at once.

Cleanuprrc 013

With the well water we have, there is no amount of scrubbing that will keep the build up away.  So, things age fast around here.

(funny, out in the studio, I spend a lot of time patina-ing and distressing stuff to make it look older, but I'm not as fond of my appliances and such getting old and distressed)

Redos 025

I went for a deeper sink, and it is wonderful.  I also upgraded the spigot.  So, the costs were blossoming….

Redos 027

But so worth it!  Adam did a great job, and while we spent a bit on materials, he did all the work on the "love donation" fee schedule, so that balanced the costs.

Rcxmas day 043

I think I'm going to like the dark, rich color of the new faucet too.  It looks good with the dark floors in the kitchen.

Redos 026

Seems like I spend a lot of time at that sink, washing, chopping, cleaning.  And it's soooo nice to have it all new and improved.  Thanks, son!!

A Black Velvet Christmas with the Guncles

celebrations, family, Food and Drink, guncles, holiday decor, Travel, We're having a party

Randy 084

Our "Black Velvet Christmas" weekend at the Guncles was FAB.

Randy 052

Yep, that is the best word for it.

Randy 081

Except, the word should be written like this instead:

FAB!!!!!!!!!!

Randy 032

The home was colorfully filled with magical Christmas displays.

Randy 047

Tucked into every nook and cranny.

Randy 033

Not to mention that the house was also knee deep in gifts, that the guncles had generously bought and beautifully wrapped for their guests.

Randy 109

Fantastic, fresh seafood was fixed for every meal.

Randy 040

There were lots of pups waiting for cuddles.

Randy 083

A glamorous dinner party set up in a garden tent, where we cozily dined on lobster tails while a soft rain fell outside.

Randy 087

It was fun to have a reason to get gussied up.

Downloadvvvv

I don't think I've ever been invited to a dinner party where my Handsome Husband put on a tux.

Randy 066

There was a complete bar set up with fresh limes from the garden.

Randy 034

And while it was rainy during our big dinner party, the rest of the weekend had perfect weather.

Randy 036
Especially since, back home in Kansas, the temps were in the 20s.

Randy 038

I loved being outside in the sunshine.

Randy 035

It was good for my soul to see fresh, blooming plants in winter.

Randy 091

And to share such a warm, welcoming weekend with good friends, old and new.  Karen and I were already pals, and I enjoyed meeting her husband.

Randy 090

Randy and Kevin are top notch hosts, offering up more than just their home, they open their hearts up to their guests too.

Randy 051

And those guys are pretty lovable themselves.

Randy 082

They were overly generous with their gifting, but the best gift of all was them sharing their this haven of kindness, giving, and caring that is their home.

Randy 048

I'm very lucky to have married into this family. What great guys.

Domed glass frame ornaments

antiques/junking, Dew Drop, family, guncles, holiday decor, how to's, Sugarwings, vintage paper/collage art

Shrek (1)

While out junking, I found three of these domed glass ornaments for $1 each. (I wish there had been more!!) They were pretty as is, but I had other ideas for them. First step was to find just the right picture of my little fairy princesses, then back it with heavy paper, and cut out the images.

After that, I pried off the the back of the frame. That was harder than I thought it would be, but it ended up coming off okay.

Shrek (5)

Next, I covered the existing cardboard circle with very old, gold wallpaper on the front/sheet music on the back, and added the girls to it.  Dewdrop is layered over Sugarwings, with a wadded up piece of paper under her to make her image a little higher than her sister's image.

Since the glass was domed, I wanted to take advantage of the space inside and have the pictures at different levels.

Next, I added millinery flowers to their hair, and glitter pen sparkles to their dresses.

Bobbiesissytrees 003

On Sugarwing's hair posy, I added a rhinestone.  And then slid the word, "joy" under Dewdrop's head.

Bobbiesissytrees 002

Bunched up lace and ribbon were glued over Sugarwing's skirt, and a silver pipe cleaner tree was put into Dewdrop's hand.

I took a snip from the pipe cleaner, and bent it into a V shape, and trimmed the fringe, so that it was all shaped up neatly.  Then, I cut another snip off of a pipe cleaner, and trimmed almost all the fringe off of it right down to the wire, and glued that into a hole poked into the picture of Dewdrop's fist.  Over that, I glued the V shape, faux tree, so that the piece glued into her hand looked like the trunk of the tree.

Next, I ran a bead of glue around the circle, dumped a bunch of sparkly glitter on the center of the circle, and rammed the piece back into the metal frame, under the glass.  It wasn't much easier to put back in that it was to take out.  But it went in, and the glue will hold it.

Bobbiesissytrees 001

The glitter is loose, and makes me think this looks like a snow globe.

Shrek (2)The other two that I bought were turned into gifts for Guncle Randy and Guncle Kevin.   I made up a couple of pretty boy angels on black velvet for them.

Wingsshoes 045

Our trip to visit them in Florida involved a fancy dress up dinner party that was themed, "A Black Velvet Christmas."

Wingsshoes 041

I had some gorgeous, old black velvet to cut up, and used it for the background plus cut some up as ribbons.

Wingsshoes 043

The old watch face is ringed by tinsel, to  make it Christmassy.

Wingsshoes 044

Foil leaves and sparkly snowflakes were tied to the ribbons.

Wingsshoes 042

The angels in both are vintage, and the feathers are from my hen, Sophia. She had such pretty, silver colored feathers, that were just perfect for the angel wings.  This handsome guy got his suit foofed up with silver stripes, and a boutonniere with a rhinestone center on his lapel.

When I get back, I'll have some pictures to show of the guncle's FAB holiday home.  They always do it up right.  I'll probably come home about 10lbs heavier too, they cook every bit as good as they decorate, and these guys love to spoil their guests!

Theatre Lawrence, Shrek the Musical

Dew Drop, fairies, family, parties

Shrek (7)

Nope, that isn't a Christmas Elf, it's Princess Fiona.

Shrek (6)

We went to see Shrek the Musical at our community theater and of course, I thought it would be a good idea if we all got Shrekked up a bit.

Shrek (13)

My husband, surprisingly, already owned this bilious green shirt.  And Dewdrop only wants to wear her pink gown all the time, but did agree to have a green skirt over it.  I found a $3 top at Goodwill for myself, but went to 5 stores before I could find something just right for Sugarwings.

Shrek (36)

And I think that her leafy, green dress from Kohls is a perfect balance of princess and ogre, with the green leggings and shirt underneath to keep warm. It was only 6 degrees out that night, and I was glad that boots were suitable for the girls instead of princess shoes, or they'd have frozen their toesies.

  Shrek (31)

The theater itself was warm and cozy. It is a brand new building, and something our town should be very proud of.

Shrek (37)

The show was cute as can be, as entertaining for a 3 year old as it was for a 50 year old.  Well, 55, to be honest.

Shrek (56)

Afterwards, the cast came out to visit, and Sugarwings was thrilled to see Mama Bear and the Sugarplum fairy up close. Dewdrop was down for the count though. By the time the show had ended, she was snoring away in my lap with her own sugarplums dancing in her head.

B

For this little one, the highlight of the evening was getting to meet a real princess.

Shrek (43)

And dancing on the stage with the cast to the last song. Which I tried to stop her from doing, not realizing that all the kids were invited.  We have this tradition in the movie theater, that when the show ends and everyone else starts to file out the door,  we all go down to the very front of the room right by the screen, and dance to the credits.

Shrek (24)

While Sugarwings is always mesmerized by a movie, unspent energy builds up and accumulates in her tiny body while watching the show. So, we let her blow some of it off before loading her in the car.

Shrek (44)

And when I saw her take off for the stage at the end of Shrek, I didn't realize it was by invitation, I thought she was just doing what she does at the movies and figured she was going to add herself into the plot!

I'm glad they let the kiddos do this, what fun for them to be right in the middle of all the fairy tale characters. She had such a good time dancing with the Ugly Duckling, that all the photos were a blur, she was putting everything into the dance, with gusto.

My dear friend, Jen Unekis, was the featured artist, and her work was hanging in the lobby. There was an opening night reception for her, and it added to the festivities.

Here are some more photos of our visit with Shrek at the play.  I am thinking I should get season tickets, this was such a wonderful family night out!
