New manicures and last minute inking projects don’t mix well

Randy_gifts_016 I am almost ready for my trip. This evening was spent ruining the manicure I treated myself to this afternoon.  By the way, walnut ink doesn’t look very good on newly manicured nails.

I used Glimmer Mist to spritz a turquoise gift bag for some glitz.  Then, I took a piece of vintage stationery and made a gift tag to glue onto the front of it.  It’s a good sized bag, and it will be full to the brim with these 100 plus, fantastic,  handmade cards!

Randy_gifts_002 Then, I decided I needed some little gifties to take to my sisses and to my brothers-in-law. 

We are all fairy fans, so I whipped up some bottle fairies. I’ve been wanting to make some for so long, and was glad to have an excuse to finally make a few.Randy_gifts_004   And I knew I was going to miss being in my studio, so it was also good to have an excuse to hang out here for an hour or so.

Each one is tied up with vintage ribbon, a personalized tag, a gnome charm, and a guardian fairy note. 

I chose the notes at random, rolled them up and tied them on, so they will  be surprises to me too.Randy_gifts_005

I just hope the glue is set enough for them to travel well.  Maybe I shouldn’t have waited till the last minute….

Like packing. I still have laundry to do! I’d better get to it! Edit- I just learned the hard way that if you are packing things that have glitter on them, don’t do it on your bed, unless you have plently of time allotted for changing the linens!  Or unless you don’t mind sleeping in glass.

·      “Dee Essella Delight” always keeps your Internet connection fast.

·      “Zippy Zooma Zella” will watch out for radar speed traps and whisper to your toes to lighten up on the gas pedal before you are caught speeding

“Spamicka Sparkle Sparrow” keeps al of  the junk cleaned out of your email inbox and full of sweet messages from people you love to hear from instead.

    Gorgeous!!! You are sooooo funny:) I have been loving your posts with darling Sugarwings and darling Twinkle who thinks she is Sugarwings. Love the wee video of that dear wee girl and her baby and her pram and purse! It was so strange to hear your accent!!! Also the post with the dog in the dress and naked baby doll had me snorting with laughter! Happy travels and happy celebrations. Rachael:)

    Have a wonderful vacation, Karla! Your family will really be happy to see you coming – bearing all those amazing cards and gifts! I wasn’t able to make a card for your aunt, but recently made one for a lady who just turned 105! In one of the photos she showed everyone how she can still touch her toes!

    Those fairy bottles are so darn cute!! I think it’s such a good idea to put acorns in the bottles as well, mmm i have to tell my husband that we cannot throw away anything anymore (read he…the other day I couldn’t find a bucket of shells…).     Last night I was able to find the Romantic Country magazine. I was very excited when I found it and the woman stacking the mags said, “You’re very happy!” I pointed out your name and she said, “I never knew anyone who was in a magazine before!” This isn’t my first Karla piece in print, but delighted to add it! (Plus the rest of the mag is pretty good, too!)

    I’m sorry that you messed up your manicure, but am so glad that you decided NOT to sleep on the glitter! Although, if you did decide to sleep on it, just think how sparkly you would be for your trip! 🙂
