A new hat for a Romantic Gothic Ghost

IMG_2700
Somehow, I doubt if I'll do much Halloween decor this year, with the remodel and my trip to Jenn's fairy event.  I'm driving out there and spending time with my sisses on the way back.

Plus, the next couple of weeks before I leave, I get to have Sugarwings quite a bit, her dad is going to be away and her mom is knee deep in nursing school.

And did I mention the remodelling?

Last year at this time, Beth and I were working away at creating Romantic Gothic Ghosts.  A blog with lots of romantic white Halloween decor and projects with videos, photos, how tos and lots of scanned ephemera to download and print.

I know I won't have time to do up my house for the holiday, but I at least wanted to make a little sumthin just for the joy of making it.

While putting this witch's hat together from the ground up, I took step by step pictures and wrote out directions.  I've added them to the Romantic Gothic Ghost blog.  If you already paid to take the classes (thanks!!!)  you can still access all the projects and this one will be a bonus for you.

If you'd like to take the classes, check them out here: Romantic Gothic Ghosts

Its on the same page as our White Christmas classes, so that is the banner that is up.  Sorry if that is confusing.

Last year's classes were such a blast for Beth and I to do. I miss them, hopefully I can put some more together sometime in the future.  But at least I got to do this fun little witchie poo hat today.

(and yes, sweet Sissy, if you want it, I'll mail it to you! – my sis loves witch hats)

  1. Such a neat romantic take on a witch hat! Love all the tulle fluffery. It was fun to look at your past Halloween projects too. You’re so dang prolific!
Wanted to let you know I just did a post about my illustration process. You had commented on my artwork a while back, and thought you might like to see how i work.
    take care,

  2. Just had to stop by and let you know that my Co-workers surprised me with gifts from Karla’s Cottage from my Birthday! Such fun things – a bag of ephermera, vintage word primer book, bottle caps, card score keeping books, and other fun things! I was soo surprised. I’ve shared the tag books with them and the sweet frozen charlotte’s that I’ve bought. They know me soo well.
Love the spooky hat – I’ll bet that it’s on it’s way to your sis shortly:)

  3. Thanks for adding this cute hat project to the Gothic Ghosts class. I started it late last year and only got two projects done. I can’t wait to go finish the others since it is that time of year. Please do consider doing more classes in the future. Thanks again!

  4. Thanks for stopping by, Karla. Even though technology is taking away from my business, it has still introduced me to blogging and great people like you. Which is amazing when you think about it. And it forces growth. Your photography, for example, is so wonderfully enhanced by the click of some buttons (beautifully and artistically done, btw). And on-line classes…perfect marriage of hands-on art with technology to reach the masses. Guess we all just have to keep reinventing ourselves and that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

  5. Karla,
I was just thinking about your Gothic Ghosts yesterday. I was digging thru some stuff & found my archs. Is it arches or arch’s? Think I’ll work on some Halloween stuff. Can’t wait to see the remodel reveal.
