An enforced break

It has been so long since I’ve actually “worked”, that I’m getting used to a life of leisure. After Birdsong, I had house guests to play with, then a gum surgery that became infected twice and kept me laid low. (Which wasn’t a highlight of my time off) Then, I took a few days off to hang with the grand fairy.

I was itchin and ready to get back to work. So, I announced a 30% off sale in my boutique to do a little clearing out before I started adding new items. But then….

My wireless went wonky.

AT&T was out here with four new modems in one week. (Which meant hours on the phone, and more hours of waiting around for that 12-4 or 6-8 window where they might show up to bring another non working modem.

Which wasn’t the problem, the issue was a port in the main box blocks from our house.

So once that was fixed, the hard drive on my pc died.

Every day, the Best Buy Geek Squad almost has it ready to pick up in a couple of hours. Key word there is almost.

Anyway, even though they are now saying it will be ready in a couple if hours, I decided to do a quickie blog post from my iPad instead of waiting to get it back. But NOT to go back to “work” yet. I’m off to the garden to search for buried treasure with a mermaid. It’s where we have been most of the morning and I kind of like it out there.

I’ll go back to work in a couple hours or so. In the mean time, I’m enjoying this new life of doing whatever, whenever as a lady of leisure and pirate captain.

  1. Glad to hear you are enjoying your break, even when it is involuntary. Hope you dig up many extra smiles!

  2. So glad that you are over your mouth pain – I’ve been there done that with a root canal that took 4 visits dealing with 2 infections and holding my mouth open for 2hrs straight and it started to tremble.
You little mermaid is such a doll – I love seeing her grow up before our eyes!
Hope that Best Buy has your back!
    Enjoy your beautiful garden!!!

  3. Ugh. I am not good waiting for repairmen, or repairs. My evil twin comes out and takes over. Bon Chance with all that. I, too, am a lady of leisure these days. My crafting mojo is on an extended holiday, in fact I’m wondering if she plans to ever return?! My days are spent reading, gazing, plus the usual chores. There are so many good books that I could lose myself for months. Hm, OK! Hugs, Charlotte

  4. Ah, the beauty of normalcy. ‘Tisn’t appreciated fully until it isn’t there anymore! I hope your “normal” returns soon! In the meantime, searching for buried treasure with a mermaid sounds pretty fun to me!

  5. Making memories is just as important as making…well anything. You may even find you prefer it…lol!
I always love seeing photos of your playmates.

  6. According to the Geek Squad my computer is ready to go now, not in a couple of hours like they usually say. I almost dread getting it back at this point. Ive enjoyed not working for a while.
