We just got home from a beautiful weekend, fun friends, delicious food, and perfect weather in the Ozarks.
It was a great time of year to go, there hasn’t been a frost so all the flowers are still colorful, but the leaves were turning too.
Our cabin was cute as a button.
And the attention to detail there is really outstanding. Everywhere you look, there is something special to see.
I do think that the stuffed heads in our cabin could have used a tiara or some sort of glam. But the resort keeps pretty tight to their theme, it is all rustic and outdoorsy.
See our visitor? A little bird came in for the evening and perched on this deer. We called him Wally.
See what I mean about detail? Check out this decor-
The iron work on this headboard-
Soap dispensers shaped like lanterns-
The stripes painted on the roads are fish shaped instead of plain stripes-
Custom made iron trash and recycling cans by the lake-
Old photographs blown up and framed as artwork hanging in the cabin-
(but I think the grinning little girl and her sis could use fairy wings)
Plus original artwork on the walls too-
Most of the work had a wilderness theme, but I fell for this colorful cottage painting.
We also spent a few hours in Eureka Springs.
Where I bought a sparkly tiara.
And a pair of PINK camouflage pants!
But it is good to be back home in KS with my little dogs. Twinks insists on sitting in my lap here at the computer. I’d better go play with her and tell her I missed her.
Wow Karla, looks like a really special place! I especially love the recycling containers!
Beautiful photos, love the detail in the cabin and the pretty garden and your tiara and pink – what other colour is there – camo pants!
Looks like you had a fabulous time, your life is so full of fun times!
What a great place! So glad you had a nice weekend. The first picture is so cool. I want to have that display in my front yard!
Looks like a wonderful place to vacation. Not the deer head on the wall so much…but LOVE the tiara and pink camo pants!!
I would have liked the place where you stayed. It is like the cabin we stay at in Northern Michigan.
Your pink camo pants are the best!

Looks like such a fun trip! But there really is no place like home!
Hi Karla! It looks like you had a terrific weekend, and who wouldn’t in such a wonderful place! All the little details are just fabulous and well worth the effort. Thank you too, for your very sweet comment on my blog.

Lol! I laughed as I read about the stuffed heads needing tiaras and the girls in the photos needing wings! I am surprised that you didn’t just magically come up with some way to make that deer head a tiara and whip out your paint brushes and paint up some wings on the portrait! LOL! Sounds like you had a great time! I love going on trips, but I too love coming home!!

Lucky You! Looks like a beautiful place.
I was in Eureka Springs years, ago.
I think you like the camouflage pants because the splotches of color remind you of your painting pants. LOL

Although you are resting, your head continues to work with the wings and tiara.
When I saw the tiara you purchased I thought for sure that deer was suddenly going to go glam!
Glad you had a great weekend!! Have fun catching up with Sugarwings!!

Julie
I love Big Cedar Lodge! It’s not too far from my home!

Beautiful photos! We haven’t had a pretty fall here, so I really enjoyed looking at them! I was laughing at all your comments on “Karla-izing” the place! You should have left a tiara on the deer just to see if they would notice!!!
You deserved a great weekend!
