I am making headway! Things are coming together for my sale. I even had time to embellish another photo album. This is covered in a great, old wallpaper, ruffles of sheet music and an handpainted oval of anaglyta wallpaper that I did for it.
None of these items are newly done, but I have them hung and priced! That feels like an accomplishment right there.
I had painted the wreath onto my closet door and decorate it for the seasons. Right now, it just is sporting clearance junk I want to get rid of, nothing too special.
I had painted these two bright little pictures and the flower polka frames for an article I wrote, and they really aren’t my style. But the story was about using a round sponge brush to paint the flowers on the frame and I was told to use BRIGHT colors.
These are more my style. I painted all of these last night.
And all of these- too. The ones on the floor still need hooks and wire on the backs. That is the time consuming part. I can paint like a fiend, it is the grunt work that gets me.
Sugarwings stayed all night, so I had to do get these done after she went to bed.
I snuck out to the studio to paint while her Pop Pop was playing with her for a bit, then went in to take my shift of chasing her energetic little body around the house.
Can you see what happened to her clothes when I gave her a hug?? She’d better get used to it. Everyone around me ends up getting smeared with paint sooner or later!
Back to work. Sorry about the photo quality. did I mention I am in a rush to get ready? You can tell by the reflection in that mirror that my studio is a bit of a mess and not finished yet.
Plus there are a few more things that could use a sparkling of Fairy Dust glitter on them yet. I’m sure little Sugarwings will go home with a few sparkles on her to match the paint.
I love when I hear from you the toaster car girl blame Heather.. you were so incredibly generous and kind and I just thank you so much..
Can’t wait to see it all in person and pick one or two out for myself!
My Goodness Karla…How do you do it all?
Everything looks wonderful as usual…
Priscilla
I love how the creativity just seems to be oozing from your pores. I’m impressed that you find the time to post so often!
Karla
Life is always sparkly at your house Karla!!! Make sure you get some rest too :))
I do enjoy the anaglyta paper painted like that. So pretty.
Wow – you DO paint like a fiend! And it’s all amazing. And your sugar wings (did I get that right?) has the most gorgeous eyes!! Blessings… Polly
Karla, everything is just wonderful, i am especially in LOVE with the welcome sign, it is gorgeous…and that sugarwings is such a doll baby, she has the most beautiful eyes and the sweetest little face:)
Oh my goodness, I just love all your ornaments. How pretty! Your blog was a real treat to look at and I’ll be back for sure.
Hey, The Karla
You are one busy bee, you must paint in your sleep.
G’day,
Karla Smith
Hi my first time looking at your blog.
I have a 14 month old grandbaby.
Our first. But she lives 2000 miles away from us. Which I do not like.

Love your site .. New at blogging -so am trying to meet those who love art like I do — was a decorative painter for years — now I am loving cutting up paper — Please visit my site countrychintz.blogspot.com
I sounds like Sugarwings has her grandmama’s
energy.
I like the snowman sign the best.

omg.. where did you get all the energy to paint almost everything in one nite??.. but anyhow.. i love all the stuff you paint.. especially the welcome & wish sign.
wish i can get hold one of you signs.. that would be lovely!.
thank you for sharing us the picture!..
Hi Karla, I sure missed a lot since I was last here, but then how could I not, you are a whirlwind LOL, and I had to giggle about taking a break and going to the thrift store because that’s what I do when I start to feel overwhelmed.
Your sugarwings is beautiful and I bet she has a lot of fun visiting you 🙂 Your work is beautiful too, I have a feeling you never get bored with life.
Oh I just love that “favorites” sign! Wish I could come!
xoxo

Oh! I think I need to get on a plane and come to your sale! My sis-in-law is a flight attendant and get us tickets anywhere. I’m going to have to visit Kansas some day!
Love the blue sign “favorite things” ! Sugarwings looks like she is struggling to get down and get her hands dirty! I’m sure she goes home glitterfied every time – but it does suit her!
Your painting projects are so cute! I can envision little Sugarwings with a brush in her hand and a bit of paper to “help” you with your projects. Hmmm…maybe not as maybe it might then involve you scrubbing walls and things.
Hi Karla,
Your signs are fantastic! I absolutely love that one with the snowman 🙂
Hugs,
Dena
I thought of you and your glitter today, my house has a fine coating of it. But it is because I let kids decorate ornaments and then got out the glitter. You would think I would learn to do that outside. I love the signs! Hope the sale is great!
Gorgeous! My favorite is…Favorite Things! And the snowman is really cute, too.
Karla! I love all of your signs, but the snowman is my favourite! Sugarwings is just the cutest!
Amanda (aka Cottage Contessa)

Love your new cabinet door art! And I feel the need for a SANTA something or ‘nuther that you’ve painted!!
Big Hugs,

Your a machine!
I love your style.I have seen as you use old doors and windows, I have a window in waiting list for paint.
Wow, can you create the merchandise or what?? and such beautiful things you have for that sale!!! I received my sweet little peat pot ornaments yesterday and already have them hung…just precious, even more so in person!! I am hoping you just sell out during your event so that you can just fall into your comfy couch and take a long rest!! You will sooooo deserve it, you are truly amazing!!!-Sandra
Everything looks great! Our kids are equally puzzled by the home tour thing! Honestly- they just don’t understand that the train track is set up as decoration–they still want to play with it!! LOL haha- it will all be fun! Good luck with your home tour as well!!
Everything looks wonderful, Karla! And what’s a little glitter and paint to a little Sugarwings. Nothing but embellishment!
Love,
Julie
Everything looks so beautiful!!
Sugarwings is so sweet- she reminds me of my baby girl!!
