I got some of the best new (old) wallpaper! I had to make something with it right away, so put together this card with one of my painted cupcakes and some other vintagey pretties.
The same flocked paper is used as a background for this tag.
Sissy sent me these ballerinas, and I made one into a fairy to tie to the cover of the photo album I am sending to her.
All three new papers are wonderful, but I haven’t had a chance to use the other two yet.
If I would stop buying wallpaper, I could probably afford the good camera I whine about wanting.
I really like my camera, but I sure do drool over photos taken by Carol and Sara. Both of them use Canon Rebels, and their pictures are always so good. Of course, both of them are great stylists too, that sure helps!
Speaking of Sara, she has added my two latest magazines to the list to the side of my blog.
She is always so fast when I ask for something to be done and I am still thrilled with the blog design she has done for me! I hope to have some extras added some day when I have time. I’d like to have a seperate page with my blog roll and "about". But, I seem to always have other things to do. Someday I will get that blog roll revamped and more blogs added to it.
I am such a blog addict, I read so many more than what I have listed there!!
Sara isn’t the only person I need to thank today. LOOK AT WHAT BETH MADE!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t knit and never will, but I love to look at yarn shops and day dream about the gorgeous colors. I bought a specialty ball of yarn and Beth whipped up this scarf for me out of it.
Its even prettier in person, soft and sweet and lighter than air.
This came in the mail from my friend, Shawn. The first thing I noticed about it, besides how cute it is, of course, is that the name "Nathan" is in the sheet music on Twinkle’s wings!
Shawn is coming to my blogger’s craft day this Thursday. If you are a KC or Topeka area blogger and like to do paper crafts, let me know if you’d like to come too.
Amy is the winner of my June Garage Sailing Giveaway Prize Pack, and since her blog is titled
"Bunny Rose Cottage" I added this cute enameled bunny charm to her gift.
I haven’t decided what my July prize will be yet. But all comments on all posts count for the month, whether the prize has been announced or not.
Looks like July is finally here, it has turned hot! The poor dorkies didn’t even want to work in the garden with me this morning, I came in and they were lounging on the bench in the breezeway out of the sun.
Oh the picture of Sugarwings and Twinkle is adorable! How clever of him to work your name into the music / wings on Twinkle! I feel for the dogs, I don’t like the heat either. The 4th was sooo pretty and so was Saturday, but it really turned into the dog days of summer yesterday and today!
I just love all your flocked paper!! You are really talented!!
~Blessings,
Jan
ps…hope I win your July give-away – make sure you sign up for mine!
You really have been spoiled by Shawn with this beautiful tag and by Beth, that scarf is knitted sooo pretty and I love the colors. And now you are going to spoil your sister with the scrap album. I like that ballerina and your sister too!
Now I’m off to another blog, you never guessed I was addicted too huh? ;-D
There you go making more beautiful things. I love the feature with Sugarwings.
Your babies were smart to stay in out of the heat.
What pretty items!
I think your photos are always great!
I love the one with the “hot dogs”. Did you mean to call the poor guys Dorkies? LOL
Hugs,
Joanne
Oh, I so wanted to win!!!! Sob….sob….sniffle….Okay, on with life!! I think it’s the styling also, my sweet cottage chick!! I love the closeups and am working on my “stylin'” also.
Smoochies,
Connie
Looking forward to seeing all of you too! That wallpaper is gorgeous! Take care and be safe in this horrible heat!
The card from Shawn is ADORABLE! Isn’t she clever with the ‘nathan’…and those hats on Sugarwings and Twinkle are just the best!
Love what you’ve done with the flocked wallpaper–the velvet ribbon on the card makes it even more decadent! 🙂
Oh, your babies look like mine! You’re right! And without Sara, I’d be lost. I screw something up trying to clean up a list or something and she has to bail me out! What would we do without Sara?
Brenda
What a great gift from Shawn! And congratulations on your articles. I’ve read the Romantic Homes, as I think I mentioned, but they don’t have SLife in yet. I’ve been back twice (wanted it for hospital reading.) Well, I’ll try again!
Oh Karla, I LOVE the bunny charm!!! Thank you so much! It will have a special place in my heart. When we arrived home, we found out that Daisy May (one of our bunnies) had died while we were gone. We had my parents coming out every day to feed, water and hold them but she still died.
The scarf is beautiful and I LOVE the tag with Sugarwings and Twinkle! That is so beyond cute!
I love the wallpaper!! Your cupcakes are so pretty too!
Hugs,
Amy
It’s hot here in NY, too. I’m so thankful we finally got AC a couple years ago!

Love your flocked wallpaper. I have been hunting and hunting for some beautiful old wallpapers but not much luck. Have found some but didn’t like them. I think your photos are great. I thought mine were not bad until I saw my neighbors photos taken with her new $800.00 digital. Wow…you should see her stuff. Have a super great day. ~ Lynn
Hi Karla! The dorkies are smarter than we are! Come see what I’ve been outside sweltering in the TX heat painting!!
Big TX Hugs,

I will look for the romantic country-tried to find the sommerset life but they didn’t have the current copy. You mentioned having a craft day thursday-is that something you do on a regular basis? I live in Lawrence but usually work during the day. just wondering for future reference.
I love the little hand painted cupcake!
Darling!
I also love flocked wallpaper but never seem to win the bids I put up on ebay.

Love the tag with your little sweeties with fairy wings– made me smile!! The wallpaper is so pretty , and you put it to such good use! Oops–another big smile–hot dorkies all in a row on the settee!! Too dang cute!

You make such great looking pretties. I love your little dorkies. They are so sweet looking I don’t blame them for staying in. I would be right with them. It is getting hot here too. Have a great week.

I remember my Gram’s flocked wallpaper. She used to vacuum it 🙂
Somerset magazine is new to me. Is it a regional publication?
{Mmoderate these comments if you need to}
How about a Christmas in July giveaway? 😉 Just kidding.
Don’t forget to come enter my giveaway this month. Photos of the vintage goodies are up.
You have a beautiful blog and make some wonderful art projects. I wish I lived in KC so I could come do some art with you and others. I came her by way of Jeanie(Marmelade Gypsy)Blog. I will be back to visit again! I am going to buy the Somerset Life mag. this week-end.
