These two love to go to Michael's Kids Crafts class on Saturdays.
Funny, they have more art supplies at home than they will ever get to the bottom of, and have encroached so much upon my studio that sometimes they have more space out there than I do.
Still, they love going to Michaels and playing with different supplies.
I sure understand, I certainly don't turn down a chance to add to my stash of goodies to work with and am thrilled to get a craft day with good friends. There is something about working on a project while talking to other creative types that make it extra special.
On this day, the little girl across the table was practicing for her part in an upcoming play, and all the kids joined in on the songs she was singing.

HI karla! I am a long time reader and fan. Quick question-we are looking to stay on siesta key and the place you and your sisters/family rent looks amazing. Is it a vrbo or how can i find it? Thanks.! Cheryl
Cheryl, we adore Siesta Sands on the Beach! It is far from fancy, but the view is the Best. The place next door, The Sandbox, has bigger rooms and the same, up close and personal connection to the beach. Both are old buildings, they aren’t like staying in nice hotels. No pool, no housekeeping, some units nicer than others. I’ve stayed in 8 of the units at Siesta Sands, some are updated, some aren’t. If you can, ask for the upstairs corner, “fishbowl” room, it has extra windows. The rooms aren’t big, but I’ve always been cozy there with three people per room. Just google the name, and you can see which units are available for your dates.
Let me know if you end up staying there, I’d like to hear how you like it.
Thank You!! I am looking for “feet in the sand” so this is very helpful. I knew from your pictures that you were right on top of the beach. I can take old, just not skeevy :)..I will google. We are looking to spend a week in that area before heading down to Ft. Myers Beach. I have read it is one of the top FLA. beaches and want to try it. Will let you know!
The white quartz sand never gets hot!
it is 28 degrees her and we are getting 6-12 of snow over the next few days:(..beach
You must be on the East coast? They have been brutalized. Good luck with the storm, Cheryl.
i am in rochester ny-western NY, one quarter of a mile from Lake Ontario:). It gives us lake effect snow but is beautiful and cool in the summer. We have long winters-snow sometimes on mothers day, and it is very grey a great part of winter/spring… my husband wants to move south at some point but i can’t handle the heat!! plus we have a cottage one half hour from us i pend the summer at. New pontoon so he is happy for now:)
Pontoons can sure make you happy, we love ours too!
