Another beautiful Spring day around here. I am spending it in the studio working on a project for Vintage Workshop. (but with all the windows and doors open to enjoy the day!)
I downloaded images from Vintage Workshop last night. Once I got started, I got a bit carried away and ended up spending hours playing around with different sizes, color settings, etc. I now have such a big stack of images to use, I could fill 3 books instead of the one I planned on making!
I also got some jewelry listed on Etsy. Did I mention that when I packed up for the art show I was in last weekend, I forgot to pack up all the new jewelry I had made just for the show???
Anyway, it is now available on Etsy. I’ll be listing more as the week goes on, so far there are two necklaces and one bracelet.
Why does listing seem like more work than making the item to start with??
Today, I might be indoors working, but yesterday, I had a perfectly beautiful afternoon outside planting flowers with all my little helpers.
We planted a lot of purple, I have an upcoming photo shoot with Carol for Fifi at Romantic Country in a few weeks and will need fresh flowers to pick.
The article we will be doing is supposed to be for fall, but it will be shot outdoors in the spring.
So, I planted a lot of cool season flowers that bloom Spring and Fall both: Pansies, stock, violets, and ornamental cabbage.
Being the thrifty soul that I am, I know it is much cheaper to pick your own flowers then to buy an arrangement.
And the smaller the plant you start with the cheaper it is. So, I bought flats of annuals, and set them out now. They have time to grow and will be ready to pick and arrange when it is time for the pictures in a few weeks. Right now it all looks a bit spindly, but with a little sunshine and some time, these will be perfect for our theme.
Sugarwings and I took a ride on the John Deere out on our 10acres, scouting out a good spot for the photos. (Twinkle ran along behind us the whole way)
I am thinking this is a lovely spot for an outdoor picnic. Do you think it will be picturesque enough, once Carol does her magic and brings all of her tables and props?
I think it will be a beautiful spot for a picnic, how exciting! Your necklaces are beautiful. I am glad you are having a great birthday monthand I have decided to take your advice and celebrate the month too!
It is a beautiful spot and I will anxiously look forward to the publication!
The picture of that adorable cherub and her sidekick in the wheel barrow is priceless!
Karla sounds like it will be a fun shoot.
Great spot for a picnic

It does look like a nice spot…I wonder with a super long extention cord what some fairy lights would look like? Celibrating the last of the summer light just before the fall and winter darkness. I wonder if they’re going to bring in some leaves to sprinkle about? Oh No! you forgot to pack the new jewelry! Good picture of sugarwings and her sidekick.
Karal, that first necklace is a stunner…i had to run right over to etsy to put it at the top of my csst wish list:) you have the sweetest garden helpers ever, i had angry ants and spiders with me in the garden today, no fair!!!
your yard looks pretty and that is a lovely spot for a picnic!!!
The flowers look so pretty

Forgetting the stuff sounds like something I would do! And I have getting things ready for the post office the very most!
What a gorgeous photo at the top of the post! I cannot wait to see this photo shoot! It is going to be GORGEOUS!!! Great spot!
xoxo Heather
Glad to see Sugarwings is feeling better. Looks like a great spot to me. That bit of fence looks ripe for decorating!
Oh just beautiful Ms K 🙂 I can’t wait:)
Hugs,
Carol
So exciting! Yes that back drop is beautiful! And those flowers will tripple in size in 3 weeks. My petunias burst into huge blooms after only 3 weeks. (they are very easy to grow and can also survive until the first frost……)
You picked a perfect setting for an outdoor picnic.
I love the photo of Sugarwings in the wheelbarrow. She is going to have so many wonderful photos of her childhood, thanks to grandma.

Nothing like a weathered wheelbarrow and some cute passengers to inspire some gardening! Love your pictures. I’m saving up for a piece of your fabulous jewelry. Have a happy birthday month!
How fun!!!!!
I can’t imagine you’d need more props – Sugarwings in a wheel barrel – priceless & precious!! You’d better check with her agent and make sure she’s available that day, lol!
The theme – hmmm, I’ll bet you put your magical paint brushes to work and paint each leaf a shade of Autumn… 😀
I do believe that you and Sugarwings have found the perfect spot – quite idyllic. Good job, girls. You’re a perfect team.
So sorry I missed your BIG day!! But it looks like we will be celebrating YOU all month long so Happy Birthday!!!! So glad that you have had a great start to a fabulous year!!!!! So HAPPY HAPPY DAY!!!

the flowers will look beautiful when grown, I love your necklaces too, gorgeous x
Totally WILD about the photo of Sugarwings in the wheelbarrow. It has Victoria magazine written all over it (or a zillion others; that one’s hitting me first!) The photo shoot sounds like it will be really fun and beautiful! What a space! (And the necklace is lovely, too!)
Everything look just beautiful! Of course we are filled with envy here in the dry and hot land of AZ. Flowers just don’t last the summer… anyway, your property is wonderful! I can’t wait to see the article – or photos.
Love the necklaces. Beautiful outdoor pics with the kiddle and doggy. The photo shoot sounds so exciting will you post pictures of the process? That would be so fun to see. Let me know if you do. Have fun!

That picture of Sugarwings is too adorable for words!!!
Bummer about forgetting to bring your jewelry to the art show! I guess it’s a bonus, though for all the people in cyberspace who only get to see your creations online. 🙂
