Its always nice to see an article with one of my pretties in it. And how nice to see two together here in Somerset Studios Gallery. (summer issue)
The cover had me drooling. What a gorgeous selection of art work and colors.
And even better news, my bud, Beth, is in these two magazines- and she says she'll teach a class from one of the projects at my studio next time I have an arty weekend here for students.
Here is a not so attractive photo. Agnes Rosebud has a habit of scrounging the studio for playthings (some that are NOT hers) and piling them up in this area. I guess I should be glad that she doesn't do this any where else, just this corner of this one room.
She seems to think that anything on the floor, or near the floor (a low shelf, Sugarwing's doll house) is fair game. And if nothing is close enough, she'll hop right up on the work table and steal from me. Luckily, she isn't very destructive, just messy.
And she is smart enough to be embarrassed by her mess. Look at her try to slouch away. Of course, Twinks saw me get a camera out and had to pose. Any time she sees a camera in my hand, she stands ready for her close up. Even if I am taking a picture of the ceiling, she is at my feet posing and thinking its all about her.
Which kind of explains why I call them Dorkies. They are such silly, funny, little dorks.
While talking about studio oddities and messy stuff (no, not related to this photo, its of something added to the Boutique)- I have a computer bug.
Not a virus, a real LIVE bug. I saw a tiny gnat crawling on my screen and tried to smash it, only to find that it is living under the glass.
I hope it is full grown and not one of a billion tiny eggs that just hatched. I can live with one teensy little critter hanging out with me, but I hope this isn't the start of something.
I'll leave you with a few photos of some new stuff in the Boutique and on Etsy.
Don't forget, there is FREE shipping on all millinery for May Flowers (US only). There are 6 days left to have flowers delivered free of charge.
Now something crawling under the glass monitor would make me crazy, I think!

Agnes Rosebud is just doing what she sees you doing. Busy work. She just likes it on her level!!! They are so cute.
How proud you must feel to be published (again!). Border’s Books, the only book store in our town, just closed. I miss being able to browse this sort of magazine, and occasionally buy to have for inspiration. Those pups are so adorable. Of course you can’t stay mad at their naughtiness.
I love your dorkie stories, and it cracks me up how the puppy is slinking away…my beagle does that, too! Gosh, life would be so boring without our four legged friends! Congratulations on another Somerset article! I can’t wait to find them locally – both yours and your buddy’s. (That’s always a challenge, finding Somerset around here!)
That is so funny about Agnes your little dorky, because I have Izzy my Boston who gets all the toys out of the box and then some of my daughters stuff or mine and piles it all around her. The cats steal make-up brushes from the bathroom to swat at. Where would we be though with out a little four legged friend in our lives?
I had a schnauzer who used to pull my underwear down the stairs and put everything in our dining room. My moms Bichon has to hide his bone every night before he goes to bed….who know why they do some of these things, but it is good that she doesn’t destroy the things she steals! Congrats on your latest publications!!
Sandy
Congrats on being published! It’s not surprising though!, you always create the best things!

WOW…you should be so proud, a two page spread. Congrats, Karla. It seems that Lawrence, KS. has escaped the scary, crazy weather. I am so relieved to find your blog safe and (reasonably) sound….(just kidding….)
Karla, that is wonderful for you, and Beth ,too- congratulation to you both-
Your two babyes are so cute, and so are the crown–I love the one I bought last year.
Happy doggie cleaning 🙂

I’m in for the next art retreat…..especially if Beth is teaching. Still reeling from Birdsong.
XO~Hope
Give BOTH your sweeet dorkies a huge hug from me.
Congratulations on the magazine feature. I can spend days swooning over those mags.
OH how delightful. Other blog friend I was just visiting is also in this Somerset Gallery. I can’t wait to go get it and see your work!!!
Congratulations on your two pretties being published…fun! And to Beth too!
Congrats to you both.
Put me first on the list for any class you are having or teaching. I try to visit several blogs a day, but it seems I miss some things.
Your dogs are darling.
Congrats on the article Karla! I’ll be looking for it when it comes out next week.
I have to laugh over Agnes thieving from you out of your studio. Sonny does that too! He has baskets of toys in every room & I have baskets & totes full of my goodies stashed in my studio. I think he thinks that anything in a basket on the floor, must be for him! LOL
Yorkies are so funny, aren’t they!?! Too cute!
I want to be at the top of the list for your next retreat – Birdsong was so much fun and we had a really nice group – great bunch of ladies.
Congratulations on your projects in Somerset! How fun…
Naughty Agnes Rosebud — but good Mom! Congratulations! Must send good greetings to Beth now!
Your work is phenomenal, congrats!! Good on Miss Beth too.
I would so take that class.
The dawgs crack me up LOL beware the poser might be the instigator…just sayin
Keep smiling and creating
I love when you write about your ‘dorkies’. They always make me smile.
