Happy Birthday Little Fairy Baby!

Logomachy cards-1
These logomachy cards I got from Mary are just WAY too much fun. Especially since I figured out how to do some digi collage stuff with Picassa.

See what I mean?

I just wish Picassa had a few more options for borders or framing, and fading, because I can't find any there. Picnik has some, but I already waste too much time just messing with one, let alone going back and forth from one site to another editing and re-editing, loading and exporting pictures from site to site!

It would probably be quicker for me to draw and scan it myself. But honestly, I really, really should be doing something more productive with my time anyway.  Its too easy to get sucked into playing with pictures, when I have lots of things waiting to be done. But I always love looking at pictures of Sugarwings.

Happy birthday leandra 034
Sunday is my little fairy grand baby's THIRD birthday.  We'll be at the airport in Charlotte at 4 am so we can get home in time to have cake with her that day.

This photo is from her one year birthday party.

And here she is the day she came home from the hospital.  She looks so tiny in the bed that I painted for her.

Her hippy parents spent time creating special things for her home coming too. Her Daddy tie dyed this blanket just for her, so she'd get a creative start to her new life.

And now, we are (hopefully) enrolling her in a Waldorf
school to continue nurturing her imagination and stimulating her mind just as her parents have done from her very first days. The papers are filled out and are being turned in tomorrow, if all goes well, she'll start preschool in a couple of weeks.

This  photo is from her 2nd birthday party.  It seems just like yesterday that she was a toddler…  and now preschool???  I think this is going to be much harder for me than for her parents.  It will not be easy to see her go off to school.   But, I know that it is the best for her.  She'll benefit from  having a consistent schedule, and social time with other kids.

I already miss her, just thinking about it.

  1. Karla I know for sure that we are all going to miss Sugarwings here, my daughter and I will certainly do. I read the link and it seems to me that the Waldorf education is such a good choice for her. Here we have Rudolf Steiner education too, but unfortunately I couldn’t choose it for my kids as there were no possibilities to combine it with daycare at the 2 days I went to work when they were little. In the end it was hard to combine anyway so I had to quit working, but then they were attending another school. Now my daughter is in highschool were she does a theatre education at the same time, singing, dancing, drama and decorating and this is sooo good for her. This part of education makes everything at school more fun. I think Sugarwings will like it up there, but I do hope we will see her here sometimes too.
Happy 3rd birthday to Sugarwings and a great party to all!

Cant imagine how they will teach her at this age. But Im very close to her and she with me. By the way I love her bed you painted. I have table and chairs waiting to figure out how Im going to paint for her. Just think of all the fun things she will tell you about her school. Wishing you well..Sally

  8. awwww! Happy Birthday Sugarwings!!! She is such a Beautiful little girl! Gosh, those big blue eyes, I bet she gets whatever she wants, whenever she wants, haha!!! How could you resist that precious little face! The pictures of her on her first day home are so sweet! I love that her parents made tie dyed things for her, cute! Her crib was beautiful! I can imagine it will be hard to let her go to school, off to learn about the great big world on her own. They grow too fast! Enjoy the birthday cake!

  11. I have been so busy with back to school that I forgot to pop in and wish Sugar Wings a Happy 3rd Birthday! Time will just fly from here on out. Sometimes I wish I could just freeze time and soak up every moment of my little ones. She will have a great time at preschool, I wish I was able to afford a waldorf school for Gina.
