Personally, I am way beyond swamped right now, getting ready for Silver Bella, but I plan on catching up with all the Artist Class projects after the holidays. That is the joy of having an online class, I can look through them all in my jammies, late at night, whenever I get a chance to, not on someone else's schedule.

Of course, knowing me, I won't wait.  I spend way too much time on the computer and will be too curious and excited about it all to wait "until I have time". Because "until I have time" is kind of like saying "once upon a time, in a land far, far away".

It is FICTIONAL.  I never have time!!  And never will have time to do what I want, but heck, I just do it anyway and it all works out somehow.

Of course, there is always time for Sugarwings! But then, she might be the reason why I don't seem to have as much time for other things…

When I drive her out to school, I love to linger and look around. The gardens and the play yard are so creative and fun!  They grow food and flowers for the local farmers market and the huge (organic) garden is the first thing you see when you get out of your car.

As the looming sunflowers died out for the year, they were bundled up into a tee pee for the kids to play in, and Sugarwings calls it her fairy house.

And this thatched roof play house makes me feel like I am on Gilligan's Island.  Or Survivor. Which is on tonight, and I have my fingers crossed that the evil troll man goes home.

How is that for a jungle gym?  It makes me want to climb and play on it!  I love that this school is against big plastic junk toys. They focus on all natural materials and lots of imagination.

She loves her school, and as much as I miss her during the day, I know this is a good place for her. Plus, I'm enjoying the short drive out to the countryside to get her there and back, its a reminder to me to stop and appreciate my surroundings and realize how lucky I am to live in such a pretty area.

And of course, I always know how lucky I am to have this pretty baby in my life.

  1. That pic of Sugarwings makes her look like such a big girl. It’s like she grew up overnight. My own daughter is 4 now and growing up too fast. Lisa

The photo at the end of Sugarwings is breath-taking! What a delightful wonderland of play! She so lucky to have you for a Nana!!! You make her life magical, so supervised you didn’t think of the sunflowers for your fairy woods!! later,Lori

  3. And Sugarwings is lucky to have you as a Grandma! She is adorable. I love how the school made their own toys, etc… very cool, very imaginative and just the thing to stir a kids imagination, too.

  4. I was just catching up on all of the wonderful posts that I’ve missed the last couple of days and I don’t even know where to start to comment first!! Oh my goodness!! The dollhouse, the picture of Twinkle posing in front of the dollhouse, your granddaughter’s school, the paperdolls, etc., etc. !! I just love all of your pictures and am so happy I finally have the chance to catch up in blog land!! : )

  6. Wow what a cool school … now if I could have gone somewhere like that I would have learned much more (and retained more too). She is such a doll!!

  7. Sugarwings school looks wonderful, and she looks so beautiful as usual. You always accomplish more in a day than I can do in a month. You’ll get everything done. Yea, I am addicted to tv too. Oh well it could be worse.
    Have a wonderful weekend.

  8. Sugarwings is getting so big! Her school looks like such a great place…sounds perfect to nurture her creativity as well as her mind.
You think she takes up a lot of time…. wait until you get a whole passle of grands. LOL I’m determined to have teh same bond w/ each of my grands that I did w/ the first but I’ve got so many now (5!) that sometimes it’s a struggle.
Will teh classes be offered in a package deal or individually…do you know? I’d love to take a class of your’s!

  9. Again, good luck with getting all the prep work done for Silver Bella. We know you can do it!!
And what a perfect playground for Sugarwings. She is definitely going to be able to still talk to fairies once she “grows up” with how she is always in nature.
Plus * gasp * how much she has grown! (I know, I know, cliche, but still true.) She is already past cute and is solidly gorgeous. Thank you for sharing the magic people and places in your world.

  10. Oh my goodness…Sugar Wings in such a magical school yard…could anything be more absolutely perfect….Love the sweater, she is such a precious little delight 🙂

  11. Hi Sweet Karla! The photo of SugarWings in the pink sweater shows promise of the young lady waiting in the wings…please have son and husband begin digging moat NOW. Your Friend, Bobbi
