Its just too hard to stop myself

While wrapping up some gifts to take to Silver Bella, I thought I'd gather up the gift for the November Giveaway. So many of you were hoping to win the bundles of vintage trim that I gave away earlier this month, that I thought I'd tie up a few more bits of it and offer that as the giveaway.

I'll be away for the weekend, and will be swamped when I return, so might not have time to answer your comments, but will enjoy reading them. And each one goes into the drawing for the prize.

The blog redo that Hope did for me, is so pretty and is exactly what I wanted. I'm loving the new look! So I wanted to thank her and bring a little gift to show her how much I appreciate her work. I look forward to seeing her again, its so good to reconnect with buddies at the event! The flocked wallpaper I glued onto the book is the same that she used for the side bars of my blog.

She keeps an art journal, and is a champion doodler.  I thought maybe she'd enjoy an ephemera filled book with her name on it to fill up with her artistic ramblings.

Making a book for Hope got me fired up to make a few more…

Mary had given me a stack of old book covers, and I am finding them very compelling.  Little books filled with old papers has been something I've been making for a couple years now, and it is even more fun with these book covers.

Each is filled with with a mismatched assortment of papers, plus some tags that I like to trail ribbons and doodads from.

The last few days have been a hodge podge of little projects, as well as running errands, packing up and over all getting ready to go.

There is still a LOT left to do.  So why do I get so side tracked?  I didn't need to make books. I should have been packing up my supplies instead.  Or why did I make myself a brooch to wear on my coat?  That's just how it goes around here.  I can't help myself.

My Sissy gave me this cubic zirconia pendant, that looks like a crown, and I thought it would be great on one of my vintage medal ribbons with the "K" pendant that was a gift from Carol, last year at Silver Bella.  With a tiny  millinery rose added, of course!

My table is filled with an assortment of things that I decided I need to add to my booth, so I still have some price tags to make and packing to do. The truck is loaded and ready, but there are always odds and ends that get added at last minute.

I almost envy the people who ship their vendor goods… they at least have to limit themselves and not go crazy with inventory.  I went crazy with mine.

  1. Crazy is good Karla , your booth will be great . I love all your little sidetracks you go on. Thanks for taking the time to share them with us too. Um tell that random generator thingy its my turn to win ! lol Donna

  2. Karla, everything you make and touch is gorgeous ! You should be up there with Rachel Ashwell, and Tracy Porter! Not to mention Jo Packham.
Although, with all your publications, it looks like you’re already there !
Well, maybe being big time, would be too stressful, and take all the fun out of it, right ?
You are truly blessed, and Talented, with a capital T !
Those book covers are to die for ! B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L !
Have a good time at Silver Bella, maybe one day, I’ll get to go, God-Willing. Can’t wait to see the pics, of your adventures !
    Take Care,

  3. Great eye candy Karla. I always get so inspired after reading your blog. Have fun at Siver Bella and I am looking so forward to seeing all your pictures when you return. And you must show us some of your sweet little Baby Bella.
    Have a Great Time
    Hugs Karen

  4. Your blog post ‘Treasures from Aunt Caroline’ still haunts my odd moments when not remembering drs appts, physical therapy dates, when and how much meds, etc. [as a result to DHs mini-stroke/fractured hip joint/vertobroplasy].
    It warms my heart

  5. Karla, it’s a good thing you will have helpers with you to set up your table…everything looks so pretty!!! the book you made for Hope is gorgeous!!!

  6. Gimme some stuff!!! Pick me, pick me!!! I am hoping that you will be too busy post-Bella to reprimand me for my greedy bad manners. Again. Ahem. Oh, heck, PLEASE! Seriously, I love all the journals that you make. I have been trying to start a journal for at least 5 years, but then realize that I am either #1 complaining about stuff or #2 writing things that I don’t want anyone, ever, to read (like they would be that fascinated, right?). So I admire those who do that, or who, like you, have a blog. And as always, thank you for sharing your little corner of the world! Your Friend, Bobbi

  7. What a lovely thank you gift, Karla. I’m sure Hope will treasure it. I can’t wait to see what you bring back from Silver Bella. Please take lots of pictures for those of us who have to live vicariously through you!

  8. I love your style….can’t wait to see your Bella pictures, have a wonderful time, I hope it feeds your soul the way your blog feeds mine…be blessed 🙂

Thank you for your email, much appreciated – especially given how busy you are – can’t wait to get my paws on the little book :o)

  10. I just adore your scrapbooks…so inspiring…I have little snippets of your pics in my little “ideas” scrapbook that I carry with me whilst out shopping for supplies. Keep up the great work with your glue pot…love reading your blog. Have a great time at Bella and get those pics up asap!!
    best regards
    Deborah

  11. Karla, you never cease to amaze me with everything you do. I just don’t know how you do so much and it’s all so wonderful. I’m glad you found the time to make those books – they’re gorgeous!

  12. The book for Hope is pretty! It is so sweet that you always customize your gifts to make them that little bit extra special for the recipient.
The extra special thing about the journals is how they are mismatched. Each unique and lovely for their eccentricities like a person who has been busy living life.
Hope the extra vendor goods made you crazy happy, because there can never be too much happy. ;->
