It is good to be home again, and to have my home de-Christmassed. As much as I LOVE having it all foofed and shiny for the holidays, once they are over, I want the stuff gone, gone, gone. And I kind of like to keep things slightly spared down for January. I guess it is all the time cooped up in the cold weather, I start to feel overwhelmed if there is too much going on in the decor.
When Spring comes, or when I start hoping it is coming, I'll get out the floral curtains, cushion covers, and set out vases full of flowers.
But for now, it is all about extra, soft blankets piled on the sofa, and simplicity.
Hmmm, maybe that could be my word for 2015? Nope, I couldn't do simplicity all year.
By the way, Happy New Year!
Beautiful, Karla! I’m loving the sound of the soft blankets on the sofa. Oh, and simplicity and I have a hard time intermingling as well!
Happy new year!
lol…what is simplicity? Crafters/artists on overload don’t know that term… Love your home!
Happy New Year, Karla! I love your January look!
Simplicity is hard for me. Carol Spinski has a home that always inspires me to edit and scale back, her farmhouse is such an ideal of clean lines and proportion. I tend to pile and crowd things.
lol, I couldn’t do simplify all year either! Your living room is gorgeous!
Happy New Year Karla!
Your room looks lovely and relaxing – perfect for snuggling in cold weather with a good book and those soft blankets.
