Before the babies left, I gave them their first real bath. They'd been washed up and tidied plenty of times, but this was the first time they'd been tossed in the tub together.
And they weren't quite sure if they liked it!
Mom jumped in with them, she loves baths. And they decided to climb up on top of her to escape.
They just weren't quite big enough to scamper out, no matter how hard they tried.
It took a while to get everyone cleaned up, since there was a whole hoard of them to get through, and they weren't exactly patient with me. I got a lot of accusatory stares from the group.
Afterwards, they were treated to bedding warm from the dryer and bowls of yogurt mixed up with hot water. Kind of a puppy version of hot cocoa.
I discovered that my sweet little, Dorothy Rosebud, might be a grudge holder. She refused to even look at me after the experience.
The other guys soon forgave me. Maybe they will enjoy baths as much as Twinkle does. She was such a good mama during the scrubbing. She jumped in and out of the tub with each pup as I took it out to dry it off. Of course, my bathroom floor was swamped.
Tiny little Dorothy Rosebud is healing, thanks for your concern. And since Beth offered to dog sit both pups when we travel, we are thrilled to be keeping her big brother, Albie. How could we give up a puppy that taught himself to ride a toy rocking horse?? (photos to come, its pretty cute)
I'll leave you with some photos of what's new in the Boutique.
(There is more too, this is just a few. Mostly vintage jewels and old booklets)
I am so glad you are keeping two of these adorable puppies. As I watch your sweeties grow, I am really wanting a Yorkie. I need to decide if I want to be a fulltime mommy. I’m not sure at this time.
Have a peaceful weekend.
I am going to miss the photos of all these darling babies!
I have been thinking of you Karla. I am glad to read that all is well…but oh what a fright for you.
The photos are so so cute. Bestest wishes to all.
p.s.
I wish your son lived near me and my little havanese Kaysie Margieanne…she has been in pain with a bulging disk….I bet your son would be able to help my little girl.
Love the pictures of all those tiny faces looking, (glaring), up at you over the top of the tub…just priceless. It will be fun to look back on these photos when they are all grown up and maybe even have families of their own.
What messy fun! I love those old Hallmark date books — have just started seeing some at shows!
I know he helps my back! I broke a couple vertebrae falling off a horse, years ago and have disc issues. Everyonce in a while when my back goes out, he is around to fix it for me. Sorry your doggie is in pain! He should start a dog healing business, lots of us worry about our little pets and would love for them to have some relief!

thanks for sharing these bath pictures…they are ridiculously cute!! I’m so glad you are going to keep Albie, too–what a generous friend you have in Beth!
Your pictures are adorable and I’m sitting here laughing as I read your post. What a job that must have been ! It’s too funny, the looks those puppies were giving you :o)
Oh, Karla…these pictures take the cake, really!!! Those babies are toooo adorable for words, and I am so glad your little Dorothy Rosebud is recovering. Those little noses peeking over the edge of your bathtub are way too sweet to be real…are you certain those aren’t Steiff teddy bears in that tub? Love, Patty in Kansas
I will miss seeing puppy pictures, so you will have to post pictures of the ones living in your home. I can be a back up sitter if Beth is out of service:-)
Happy Weekend.
Hi Karla
I love seeing shots of those sweet puppies – it must have been hard to see some of them go! Glad to hear that Dorothy Rosebud is feeling better!
