Birdsong weekend is past now, and I will treasure it always. What a beautiful time, with beautiful ladies.
A big thank you is owed to all of the sponsors who filled up our goodies bags with treasures that the girls just loved.
Our teachers provided lots and lots of extras with every kit, and we all had such fun creating their designs.
Lisa brought out the heat gun and showed us how to become pyromaniacs and uplift a cool project into something smokin hot!
Debbie's lampshades were even better in person than they were in the photos if you can imagine that. And she brought so many trims and baubles to add that no two people ended up with the same look.
But the best part of all??? The great group of gals that came to play.
I was honored to have them all as guests in my home.
It was a privilege to call them friends.

Karla, I just can’t express just how much this weekend did for me!! Just the chance to be with so many kindred spirits and rekindle my creative spirit. I just love “my” people!! It was all so wonderful, your beautiful home and studio, the food, the classes, all of which I just loved and everything will be proudly displayed. Thank you so very much for the work and sacrifice you put into all of this for some of us you did not even know. Your generous spirit is an inspiration to us all. It was a huge blessing to participate. Hope you grandbaby is doing better and will heal quickly. Sugarwings was precious and so sweet. You are a wonderful grandmother to your little ones.

Have spent all day re-hashing the wonderful weekend. Still cannot believe that I was actually inside YOUR workshop creating!! After following your blog for years, to actually have that opportunity was unbelievable. And, to witness what a gift you have for hospitality was inspiring. You made each of us feel like such a special guest in your home….Thank you so much, Karla.

I have a similar floral tole chandelier waiting to be hung in my craft room. I bought it from a tiny TX town’s floral shop that was moving from the town’s original movie theater into a new space. I have a matching pair that is just waiting for my husband to get to.

I would so love to come to your next gathering. That would be so much fun, and Kansas is doable for me, anywhere I can drive. Thing that gets me is all these great places to meet in Cali and up north but not much close enough for me to afford. Hope I catch the news next time you have one of your gatherings. I’ve always admired your cottage and have always wanted to visit. Plus if you are looking for an extra teacher I would love pitch in.
