Patches

Thanks for all your kind comments, but I'm not about to fall to pieces. I'm just a bit blue and slightly overwhelmed at the moment, but things get better. Life is an up and down thing.

When things go wrong, you fix what you can, patch up the messy spots and keep your eye on the happy shiny stuff ahead!

So, please don't think I'm in bad shape, I hope I wasn't complaining too much. Sometimes I over share on this blog…

Maybe to even out my negative post about being down I should print a happy list?

  1. I have nice kids to worry about.
  2. Sugarwings' elbow will heal.
  3. My husband is buying chain saw pants to wear for the next time he cuts wood!
  4. Sparkle was the sweetest puppy mama and lap dog EVER, and we were lucky to have her for as long as we did.
  5. Winter might suck, but this one has not been very cold, and I've not got snowed in once. I've not even slid across the driveway and fallen on my butt yet. NO ICE!!!
  6. Grandfairies are pretty cool to have around.
  7. Our Hippy Chick is academically gifted and doing great in nursing school
  8. Our Gypsy is starting at KU this week and loves her classes, and both girls will pass on the love of learning to the grandfairies.
  9. My husband makes me laugh.  A lot.  He's fun to live with.
  10. Agnes Rosebud could possibly grow up to be as sweet as Sparkle was.
  11. My studio is a wonderful retreat, even when I am not feeling arty, its a beautiful place to be and I'm lucky to have it.
  12. I have a new kitchen. A perfectly vintage, brand new, big kitchen.
  13. All of our cars are repaired and back on the road and hopefully will go on for a long time before they need replaced.
  14. American Idol is back and better than ever.
  15. I sure enjoyed baking all those Christmas cookies that are stuck to my backside. Sugarwings and I love to bake together. Dewdrop has decided she wants to help in the kitchen and likes to stir the batters with us.
  16. My shop is practically empty, and needs restocked.
  17. People from last year's Birdsong are signing up to come back again and bring friends.  That must mean that they liked it here at my cottage with me. That is a lovely compliment that so many are returning.  And I look forward to seeing them again!
  18. My friends are some of the funnest and caring people around.
  19. I'm at a place in my life where if I want to take a couple of days off to feel blue, I can.  My home won't be taken from me, my family won't go hungry, no one will even notice if I am not working a couple of days.  I'm my own boss.  That is a big plus right there.
  20. You guys cared when I was a little down, even though it was just a little down. Thanks!

  1. Great idea to make a list of GOOD things!! I worry ridiculously about things too especially my family…when I’m all in knots about this or that they are merrily going about their life!! The older we get the more we will worry I’m afraid! I try to tell myself ” you can’t care more than they do” ( about a situation)
    Have a great day Karla!

  2. It is okay to take a few days off to be blue if needed. I am glad that there are some good to balance the down. Hope things are mostly good and you feel bright and fun again soon. Sorry about your sweet puppy and the doctor visits. Glad both are getting better. I am glad to have such a great sister-in-law and think of you guys often. I am going to try to call this weekend. May the sun shine and life be good to you and your family. Love you.

  3. Karla, glad that you’re on the rebound. It is good to know that friends care and share your burdens. Have a wonderful day

  4. Karla,
Just catching up with all my fav blogs. So sorry to hear that you have been a little blue, but hopefully things will be a little brighter soon. I wish I could be there this year for Bird Song! My daughter and I will be getting back from a choir trip to New York, so sad it just isn’t in the budget… Hopefully next year!
    Wishing you a wonderful day!

Thanks for sharing your heart, Karla… we all need moral support every now and then. And, good things are a wonderful way, to count your blessings. You have so many friends, aquaintances, and family, the world over who care ! Hope Bird Song, is wonderful, as I now it will be.

  6. Well, you certainly have it all together, and I never had any doubt about that. Sometimes the art of creative writing takes some turns that others might misinterpret. It’s entertainment, and your heart is certainly in the right place. More importantly, your mind is definitely in the right place. We should all be so lucky!

  7. Karla…I am happy to read that you made a wonderful “Happy List” of all the great things in your lives! You have become my “go-to” blog each evening. Keep on writing and sharing with your online friends. Patty in Kansas

  8. Karla? Over-share? Those two do not belong in the same sentence where they are a contradiction.
Please always feel like you can share whatever you want on your blog! This is YOUR space, Karla. If our comments annoy or upset you, turn them off for a while. But please don’t censor what you want to express. Be yourself, the Karla we love to love!
“My husband makes me laugh. A lot. He’s fun to live with.”
This really made me smile. Would that every husband could claim their wife praised them such!
    Love you, Karla! *hug*
