Table #2 packed and ready to go!

Sbella_booth_053 Progress is happening with my preparations for Silver Bella!

I have table #2 set up, priced and PACKED up!!

These photos are a rough draft. I don’t know why I show bad photos…. but I do.

I think this table is plenty FULL.  Of course, it is a foot shorter than the one I will actually be using up in Omaha at the event, so that will help the display a bit.Sbella_booth_054

The doll house shelf was great for height, and I can fill it will lots of pretties, it is a unique display piece.Sbella_booth_056

One thing I really like about it, is that I can turn it on its side and all the little ‘rooms’ become spaces I can pack the stuff in to take.Sbella_booth_057

But, instead of just wrapping the pretties and packing them into the ‘rooms’ I put all the goods into cardboard boxes first.

That way, when I go to set it up, I can remove the boxes and turn the shelf upright, then start loading the shelves directly from the boxes.

If I had packed directly into the ‘rooms’ I’d have had to unpack all the little stuff onto the floor or somewhere in the way while I turned the shelf upright.  I’m glad I thought of that.

Well, actually, I’d already packed it, when I thought of it, and had to re-pack it. But I’m glad I did ! It will save time when I have a short period to get the truck unloaded and the booth set up.Sbella_booth_059

Oops, as I look at this hat full of vintage cards, I realize that I forgot to make a price sign for the cards.

Wonder what else I have forgotten??Sbella_booth_060

This display is a jewelry cabinet with a glass door, that I painted, and laid on its back instead of standing up.

I have tussie mussies and pastel trees sprinkled around the table top, and lots of little things here and there.

I tried to have a variety, and a good price range.  There are things as low as 50 cents.  Now why is it worth my time to pack, price, and drag something that is only 50 cents all the way to the sale??? Oh well, those quarters add up I guess, and also, there are some cool little things that I liked and figured other people would too.  So, I am bringing them, whether it makes sense or not!Sbella_booth_062

For vintage Christmas ornaments and little doo dads, I bundled up and packaged some things together in gift bags, perfect for little hostess or teacher gifts, and priced them at $3 each.

Yep, I have some bargains!Sbella_booth_067

And I made up another box full of my millinery blooms.

It feels good to have two tables completed and packed away, priced and ready to set up!  One table was jewelry, this was pastels and pretties, the third will be neutrals and whites.  I hope to get to it later this week.

Today is a craft day with a few blog friends, so I’d better go and clear some crap off my work tables before the baby gets up and I don’t have a chance to do it and no one has a place to craft at!

  1. Karla, You’re a genius. I’ve been doing craft fairs for years and I always set up my table at the event never knowing what it will look like till then. I’m going to do a trial run for the one coming up. That way I won’t have to guess if I have enough “stuff”. I hope my table looks half as pretty as yours.

  2. You have been busy-busy!! Oh, this makes me want to go to Silver Bella!!
I know I’d be buying up those vintage Christmas ornament packs!
    🙂

    Karla-
Everything looks wonderful, well organized and enticing. I think you are smart to have .50 – $3.00 items, as with the economy, the purse strings are shrinking and this way you’ll be guaranteed sales at some of the smaller price points. It will lure shoppers in, for the big purchases too. You might want to emphasize with a bit bolder/larger signs some of these cheap group price tag displays, so that they grab shoppers attention as they stroll by. I’d be making a beeline to your booth especially if I saw prices like that, as well as everything you have is soooo beautiful too.
Smart to think ahead of time for the packing/unpacking of your display pcs., as that will save you time in your set up now.
Keep up the great work and you’ll surely reap benefits at Silver Bella. I can’t wait to hear all about it.

  4. Wow, you have been a very busy girl. I think you are right on with items in those price ranges, especially in this day and age. I so wish I could join you at this event to enjoy everything in person. I hope you have great success and have to start all over when you return!

  5. WOW! Everything is going to look amazing. What an awesome Silver Bella this is going to be. I wish I could go. I’ve been reading over at Heather’s too. She is doing the same. I can’t wait to read about your adventures together.
    Hugs!

  6. Oh I wish, wish, wish I could go! Your items looks AMAZING. And I agree, those 50 cent things do add up. And, if your customers are like me, I never get just one 50 cent item. I usually find a couple other things too. I’m sure you’ll sell out! Blessings… Polly

  7. Karla-
everything looks so lovely- I wish I were going to Silver Bella (*sigh*) But reading about it in blogland is the next best thing. thanks for sharing!

  8. Everything looks very “bella”- very beautiful! I think it’s great that you do different price points- I won’t be there, but when I do go to events that are similar, I always seem to the most broke and I always appreciate the vendors that still want my (pitiful) business!

  9. I’ll bet you’re gettin’ real excited to go, huh, chickee!! Come over and see the area where I create!! It’s lookin’ soooooo good!!
    Smooches,

  10. Congrats on getting your items priced and ready- You’ve certainly been busy. Bagging the Christmas ornaments was a good idea- I may have to borrow that one for my antiques booths:)

  11. Sweet Karla, I am glad you are doing the less expensive items, that way people with slim purses can have a little something, too. It is really very thoughtful. Oh! How I wish I could go! Your Friend, Bobbi

  12. Busy, Busy, Busy Karla, Your display looks great, and this will save you so much time when you actually set up at Silver Bella. Its always good to have some lower price things. You’ll do great with the variety of “stuff” you have for sale. something for everyone.

I already posted earlier, but after reading the posts after mine, you’ve really hit on something with your pricing. I think the economy has people thinking, and I believe you and your pricing will reap rewards in the end. It will draw people in, but we are artists and we always spend more than we intend. Just the other day, on my way out of a store, I saw 2 pumpkins near the register, one was the blue one and the other chocolate brown, they were cute, unusual, and I pounced on purchasing both of them. Impulse purchases always happen and you’re price points will pull the crowd to your booth to really get the overall view of all you have to offer.
Great idea with the vintage ornament packaging, it also will help the customer to protect the fragile ornaments a bit. I’m a sucker for vintage ornaments. I have quite the collection.
Happy packing and pricing for the rest of your items. Can’t wait to hear all about it. Please take lots of photos!

  16. Wow, look at all that fun stuff! I love your altered bird houses. I wonder how many pounds of glitter it took to make all the things you’re taking to Silver Bella. 😉 lol!
