There is no place like home! It feels good to be back, so good that I have not been working on being ready for Silver Bella (countdown is one week from tomorrow till Natasha and Heather get here!).
Instead, I have played with some of the stuff I bought at the Big Flea in Virginia, and foofed up this bottle brush tree, and went to spend a long morning getting caught up with friends over coffee.
When you hear me whining about not having enough time to get ready, please remind me of the time I wasted spray painting my pumpkins and sticking jewels onto them.
Orange is not my color, and since Silver Bella is around the corner, I thought it would be fun to have silver, crowned and bejeweled pumpkins by the door next week for my dinner party in honor of my Bella guests.
Whats that fuzz ball in the front?
Thats Sparkle, I am making her hang out with me, even though she’s old and would rather be laying on a pillow thinking about what she’ll be eating next. (sounds like what I’d like to be doing, actually)
Twinkle, my normal buddy, who never leaves my side all day, is on a DATE. I left her at her boyfriend, Teddy’s house while I was out of town and I haven’t picked her up yet.
Hopefully, this is what we’ll be seeing soon, Twinkle with a bunch of little Twinkettes following her around!
Of course, only in my dreams are the puppies rhinestoned and pink….
Did you remember to vote today? I am looking forward to watching John Stewart and Stephen Cobert tonight with their top notch election coverage.
I love your pumpkins, what a great idea. I love the crown! How exciting, puppies! We hope to have little Loki (my youngest Yorkie) puppies sometime next year. I am sure you will get everything done before Silver Bella! Coffee with friends is just so much fun! Have a great day!
Love the baby in the Obama shirt!! Too precious! Also love the silver pumpkins! Can’t wait to see your dinner party for silver bella!
Great post Karla! I love those twinkettes. I might consider to have a Yorkie myself when you’ll get these kind of puppies!
What an exciting day for the whole world today. Let’s hope the majority will take this babies’ advice! Too bad that I will be asleep when it really gets going!
Twinkettes…too cute.
I do like the silver pumpkins you clever girl.
ooohhhh puppies??? so cute!! I hope you get your wish. The countdown is on! I can’t wait…
What a perfectly perfect little Obama baby! xoxo Heather
I KNEW you were a kindred spirit!! I too love John Stewart and the Colbert Repor. I also love following your blog. Your pink tree and silver pumpkins are just FAB my dear. Love it all. Happy Election Day! May the best man win! – Kathy
I’m guessing the Obama baby is Shanna’s and not Twinkle’s, right?
Enjoyed reading your blog. I love those silver pumpkins! I am not an orange person either.
Blessings,
Sandi
Lovin’ the tree, the silver pumpkins and most of all the Obama baby!
A girl has to have her distractions! Especially when they turn out this pretty. Love the Obama baby!
Hi Karla! That tree is beautiful 🙂 I just bought two bottle brush trees and some mercury glass balls to decorate them with last week! We must be thinking alike, lol!
I LOVE the silver pumpkins! How cool are those?
So glad you are home safely!
Hugs,
Amy
Those little Scotty pink dogs are darling! Hope you have some live ones like them soon!!!! *Heidi*
True…there really is no place like home.
Sometimes we have to go away just to appreciate what we have at home.

I love your silver pumkins ,at first glance i thought they were gazing balls. The pink bottle brush is very pretty. Donna
Sparkle is so cute. I love your pumpkins, I painted mine gold this year. And yes I voted.
Welcome home! Love the silver pumpkins! Who would have thought?
I don’t consider those pumpkins a waste of time. Gotta have some pretties for the Bellas.

What a shame for the pups left languishing in shelters and the streets who will remain homeless and unloved while places in homes and hearts filled instead by your “Twinkettes.”
Oh, well, never mind that silly stuff, after all, it will be such fun having puppies to entertain you for a few weeks!
I like the pink tree..m.
Hi Karla! thank you for leaving a comment on my post! I saw your bottle brush trees last christmas and I think they are wonderful. Sadly it isn’t possible to find these things in Sweden so i wonder…Could you please, sell some of your pretty pale vintage-style bottle brush trees on etsy? I would buy a pack at once!
I love how you decorated the little pink one. Clever idea to paint the pumpkins? It looks like they were made of mercury glass! Have a wonderful day! /linnea-maria

Hi Karla, I love your xmas brush trees. I would love to buy a few from you if you have any and also the xmas bottle kit just like the one you post in your next post. Just lovely. Have a great nite!
Weren’t Stewart/Colbert great? The results, too!
Go, Twinks! I can see her flirting with her cute little top knot, swishing her little Dorkie hips! Fingers are crossed!
Well the second your little Dorkie has her puppies I hope you post photos. There is nothing as cute as little puppies running around.
Hugs,
Joanne
