Well, my halls are all decked and our cottage is festively foofed. My husband says it looks like Christmas threw up all over the place.  We've had Sugarwings quite a bit over the weekend, so not much else has gotten done but play with her. All the Christmassing happened while she was asleep (I decorated trees till almost 4am). No photos yet, I'll be getting some soon.  When I recover.

So, while she is in school today, I'm busily getting caught up on cleaning up my Boutique (deleting sold goods and adding a few new things, marking some other stuff down) and adding more goods to Etsy, as well as fine tuning the Romantic White Christmas Ezine.

Beth and I had a new post every single day while the classes were ongoing. Now that they have been completed, I had to go back and rearrange it all so that it started with the first posts, not with the newest posts.  You know how a blog runs from newest first to oldest last? That is how the classes were set up. Which was great while we were adding daily.

IMG_6519

Now that they are all up and running, I needed to put them into an easier format to read as a class.  We learned some lessons while doing our first class, the Romantic Gothic Ghosts, and made this Ezine a little easier to tweak at the end than that one was.

(all of these pictures are of the little "extra" projects we included in the classes that aren't listed on the sign up page)

We also added catagories for each posting, so that you can click on the lesson you want to look at and go directly to it.

It looks to me like it is pretty easy to follow and find your way around. I'd love some feed back from anyone who has signed up.

If you are in the class, and have posted any of your projects on a blog or flickr, I've got a place to add a link on my blog roll to your pictures. Please send me an email with your info if I can link to you.

On Friday, I avoided the huge crowds of early shoppers and headed to a flea market with Beth instead.  There was a lot of millinery available, but most a higher price than I like.  I got a couple of hats, then found a few more at one of my favorite antique shops, plus I'd picked up a few on my trip to Omaha for Silver Bella.

Agnes Rosebud seems to like old flowers as much as I do… I've listed some flowers in the shops, and have big plans for making this with others.  There is a banner I am working on that will need a few, and I'm hoping to make a purse tomorrow.

And there will be plenty of sparkle to chose from for the purse! Got this bagful at the flea too.

I like to save the tiniest flowers for projects like these.

IMG_6766

Itty Bitty flowers are so sweet on these Christmas trees I decorated (they are in my shops now).

IMG_6805

My favorite bloom of the bunch has to be this rose, pure velvet!

IMG_6785

Well, I'd better get back to listing things. There will be some new items added this evening too, I'm getting more photos done now while the light is good and will post some trinkets in the shop later.

The chocolate and sepia trees are already listed.  How nice that the first ones I made were such a hit, I had to whip up a few more.

This set is Neopolitan: milk chocolate, creamy strawberry, and French vanilla.

I'll leave you with a few more pics of new goods. And if you want something from both shops, I do combine shipping and always refund any excess that is more than a couple dollars over actual postage.

  1. Oh, I love the fabulous mantel shot and your trees are breathtaking! I love milinery flowers and hats too, but I hate paying alot, when I know I can find them cheaper at garage sales! Anyhoo, can’t wait to see pics of your house for Christmas…I loaded up my fluffy pink and white stuff for my cottage sale and my husband said I was going to get beat up, by my farmgirl sisters. Ha! They cheered when they saw my fluffy pink mannequin, what do me know, I am sure it is gorgeous!
    Hugs,
    Olivia

  2. I am SO jealous of all the millinery! Some of those flowers are breathtaking… especially the velvet rose! Can’t wait to see where it ends up (or is it too pretty to part with?). Happy Mon day! 🙂 mercedes

  4. Karla, I have not forgotten about our little trade. I have been laid up since 11-5 with a ruptured vertebrae in my back. I just got back to work today with the heat patches, ice pack, and meds in tow. The Dr says it will take 5-6 weeks to heal. I am hoping I am ahead of that curve!

  6. Your husband sounds like my husband Karla. The funny thing is, if you didn’t decorate like this they’d be asking where are all the deccies. I think it is just an act they put on – LOL.

  7. Dear Karla
Oh Christmas is wonderful at your house – little Sugar Wings will feel she’s a real Christmas Fairy floating about here.
Your mantlepiece is spectacular and I love your soft colours – I’m not a red and green girl either.
I would really love to do your ezine, but I’ve had to pull my horns in for a while – I’m hoping I might be able to still do it later.
    hugs
    Shane

  8. I just wanted to say hello and that I some how stumbled onto your blog. And cannot believe how beautiful it is. Great job and your creations are so gorgeous and amazing!!!! Keep up the great work!

  9. Hi Karla I love your projects like always! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving such nice compliments.I spoke from my heart on Dawns blog …its a shame for people to create drama in a place where most of us come to be inspired and lifted up. I hope love will prevail and all will be well with that situation. On a happier note I’ve been following your blog for a long time and have seen your work published in Somerset so I feel truly touched and honored that you would take the time to reach out to a newbie. Thanks so much,Karen

  10. Hi Karla, ooooooooh…..everything is so pretty and
Agnes Rosebud is a cutie in the flowers. How are the
    Grand-Babes doing?

  11. Karla,
I just wrote the longest comment & the whole dang thing deleted when I hit the wrong key. Hate that! Well, again….. Good idea to have SW in bed while doing the tree, we have about 20 orniments per branch. The kids need an Aunt Karla lesson in how to fluff a tree. Saw Beth’s treasure from the flea, all I can say is you guys better take me there in May! My house looks like someone threw up candy cane in it. Most of my decor is cottagey red & white. Vintage Santa’s, inherited family stuff. The kids love it tho. I did make my own little sanctuary in the bedroom where I did it all in white. Wait till you see the projects I did from your e-zine! I’m posting them soon as they are in my new re-done bedroom. Lisa
PS Forgot to tell you we got the box the other day. The kids went beserk. Loved all the little bits & pieces. I’m still stepping on it all!

  12. Oh my goodness Karla, your mantle looks so beautiful! I have serious mantle envy ever since my husband took it upon himself to plop a big old TV above ours and now I have all of a three inch space to decorate. I look at mantles and sigh with envy. Hope you have a great day!

  13. I love that bling you got, Karla! So pretty and what great embellishments they will make. Love your bottle brush trees, also. I never really noticed them until I started blogging and I love seeing them on all the blogs ~ especially now that everyone is decorating for the holidays.

  14. Karla,
    EVERYTHING SO BEAUTIFULL,
sorry for making this short,–as I`m with Mathilde, and her chicken pops…she is much better, so hope to be home tomorrow, to read all your posts, dear. Can`t also wait to come home, and decorate with the trees I bought from you..
