I am happy (and relieved) to say that my house is decorated for Christmas and ready for the local TV crew on the 15th!
I still have this mess to deal with before I leave for SILVER BELLA on Thursday.
I’d had the front third of my studio set up for the Holiday Home Tour and gift shop way early, back in Sept. so a local magazine could do photos of it. That was a great head start.
But now, all this mess is in front of the pretty stuff!!
I can’t seem to keep a clean work environment. It clutters up so fast, I am always shoving aside one mess to work on another.
At least I know I am 90% done inside the house, and the studio looks really bad right now, but I’ve seen it worse. I’ll have it whipped into shape in the 3 days I have before I leave.
Well, I will be babysitting Sugarwings over night on one of those days, so between watching her, and the recovery time I need to rest after keeping her out of the Christmas tree, I won’t have a full 3 days.
I’d better get busy.
You are going to have so much fun at Silver Bella! I did the fairy name and got Hex Goblinweb – who lives where there is black magic. Great – just what I need! Love your Christmas cards and all of the paintings you have been displaying.
Karla
i am Fire Elfdancer…oh to be 90% done with my home…ever…i am still unpacking…love your decor…have fun at silver bella…blessings, rebecca
Duh to me! I just realized we have the same fairy name! It must be because we have the same first name!
Karla
Hi Karla,
What amazing decorations you have! I just love how you display things. I am Oak Elfweb, living in the woods and lime trees with leaves and berries for clothing. LOL, I could handle that! Oh to be a fairy would be grand 🙂 Hope you have a great week.
Hugs,
Dena
Have a great time at Silver Bella. I know how fast you work on things, I’m sure everything will be picture perfect before you leave.
I went to see what my fairy name would be….
Your fairy is called Columbine Goblinfilter
She is a bringer of riches and wealth.
She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows.
She is only seen on midsummer’s eve.
She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.
Lives in mushroom fields??? Ha ha…we all know what they grow mushrooms in.
Have a great time away!
Everything is looking great for Christmas Karla!!
I did the fairy generator…I am Feather Haihwand…I can live with that!! Sounds very pretty!! I’m the protector of the lonely!!
I am Hex Goblinfly , blech!! I am sure that they are wrong because this doesn’t fit me at all:>)Your new banner looks great! That fairy paper is so pretty and your embellishments and Sugarwings portrait are perfect. By the way, what would sugarwings be called in that fairy name finder? Maybe you should be thinking up the names instead of whoever is running it, Ilike yours so much better!
It’s looking wonderful so far!! Oh, I’m in the holiday mood already 🙂
And don’t worry about that fairy name…we know you! (My daughter is really into fairies right now and will love this!). Your watercolors are beautiful…maybe YOU should write your own book about them???!
I was Yarrow Elfdancer, a cheery fairy. Aren’t these online quiz things fun?
Have fun at Silver Bella! Seems like everyone in Blogland is going to be there … or was wishing they were there 🙂
I told you about mine…Tangle Saturndancer. I’m a trouble maker! HA HA HA!! That’s only partly true. I must defend myself here. I am always the peacemaker of sorts.
A coworker I used to have loved my saying: I don’t start trouble, but I don’t stop it either.
Love,
Julie
Hello Karla,
I just checked in to see how busy you are! Wow Lady!!! You are such an inspiration to us all!
I wanted to say that I love the painting of the front of your studio. How beautiful.
I have been so busy (I think) with my 3 two year olds. I never seem to get anything done. Then I see what you have done with your granddaughter there and think I am lazy. You are like greased lightning.
Great luck at Silver Bella.
Sweetest regards,
Shelley
Had to check out my fairy name, here it is:
Your fairy is called Berry Goblindancer
She is a bringer of riches and wealth.
She lives in fruit orchards and vineyards.
She is only seen when the bees swarm and the crickets chirrup.
She wears red, cerise and purple berry colours. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.
I actually put my maiden name in there because it gave me goblindancer instead of Goblinfilter, lol!
Wow you get so much done around your home and your paintings are so beautiful yet again!
Well, I have the same fairy name as well, maybe it’s the k. Your tree looks fantastic and I know you will finish up everything you have to do well in advance of Thursday.

I am *Fire Elfwand*; I am a “cheerful sprite”.
I am jealous and in awe of your Christmas decor being done.
I keep meaning to start, but I can’t quit crafting long enough to decorate!
🙂
Hi there,
Just stumbled across your blog. It is lovely with all the fairies around. I can totally relate to the clutter… I’m the same it is raining clutter and more clutter in my house as I am preparing for some Christmas fairs… Do visit me at http://www.vintagedelights.blogspot.com
I shall be back to visit ,
Ta for now, Adla
There must be a gene for preparing early, which I don’t have. So I’ll just have to keep returning here, where I can enjoy all your glittery preparations :>). See you at Silver Bella.
Karla, I get worn out just reading about all that you manage to get done.
My fairy name . . .
Moth Willowtree
She is a caster of weird dreams.
She lives close to crystal caverns and stalagtite grottos.
She is only seen when the first leaves fall from the trees.
She collects crystals to wear on her dresses. She has delicate green coloured wings like a cicada.
I like the part about the crystals on my dress and delicate wings. I don’t know why I would want to cast strange dreams on others?

Your house looks simply gorgeous and amazing. I love the glow of the Christmas tree. I hope you take lots of pictures at Silver Bella. Have you ever done a self-portrait of your fairy-self? 🙂
My fairy name is Columbine Goblinwand.
Hi Karla, Everything is just beautiful and very inspiring! I am off to find out what my fairy name is. Susan
Hello there… Bramble Rainbowwand here! lol
A BIG thank you for the lovely vellum illustration and the GORGEOUS DOVE tag!!! Check out my blog today if you have a chance… I’ve given you some blog love. =)
Oh Karla,,… I dont know how you do it! Beautiful! I wish I was going to Silverbella so I could see everyone, but I leave tomorrow to teach in Canada and wont be back until next Tues. Silverbella is fun…you have a great time!
My fairy is called Feather Hailfly. Check out the fairy book I sent you & you will see all our fairy names on one of the pages. I need to add Sugarwings. The fairy book would be a great one to alter. Last night I was looking at the Rose Fairy you painted for me & was going to suggest that you post her on your blog – only to see her there this morning! Co-inky-dink? I love what you wrote at the bottom of the painting: “I planted my roses too near the fence, so my pony likes to snack on them. I like to think that the angel who watches over me as I work in the garden loves the roses in the brief time they bloom. Let this angel remind you to enjoy the beauty around you – no matter how fleeting!” You will shine at Silver Bella!!!!
Hello there HEX…I think those people got their Evil Witch names mixed up with the Fairy ones…some cruel prank for all of us innocent bloggers!
Have fun on your trip! Bring back lots of ideas and pictures and stories for us poor neglected souls….
Wow! That is quite the fairy name. Mine ended up being Gossamer Cornfly which I guess isn’t too bad!
